Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
1 ¶ Halelu-JAH. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 In my life I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises unto my God while I live.
3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no salvation.
4 His spirit shall go forth, he shall return to his earth; in that very day all his thoughts shall perish.
5 ¶ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God;
6 who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keeps truth for ever:
7 He who does justice unto the oppressed; who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:
8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those that are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous:
9 The LORD preserves the strangers; he raises up the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
10 The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halelu-JAH.
14 I have long time held my peace; I have been still and refrained myself; now will I cry out like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 I will make waste mountains and hills and dry up all their grass, and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will cause them to walk in paths that they have not known; I will make darkness light before them and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them and not forsake them.
17 They shall be turned back; they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
18 ¶ Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
19 Who is blind, but my slave? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? Who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the slave of the LORD,
20 who sees many things and does not warn; who opens his ears and does not hear.
21 The LORD, jealous for his righteousness, will magnify the law and enlarge it.
9 ¶ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, asking that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
10 that ye might walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in everything, being fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God,
11 strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness,
12 ¶ giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us worthy to participate in the inheritance of the saints in light,
13 who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,
14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the remission of sins,
