Psalm 119:9-16

BETH

How shall a young man correct his way? By living according to Your Word.

10 With my whole heart I have sought You. Do not let me wander from Your Commandments.

11 I have treasured Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

12 Blessed are You, O LORD. Teach me Your Statutes.

13 With my lips I have declared all the Judgments of Your Mouth.

14 I have had as much delight in the way of Your Testimonies, as in all riches.

15 I will meditate on Your Precepts and consider Your ways.

16 I will delight in Your Statutes, and I will not forget Your Word.

Exodus 20:1-21

20 Then God spoke all these Words, saying,

“I am the LORD your God, Who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

“You shall have no other gods before Me.

“You shall make no graven image, nor any likenesses which are in Heaven above, nor which are in the earth beneath, nor which are in the waters under the earth.

“You shall neither bow down to them nor serve them. For I am the LORD your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generations of those who hate Me.

“And showing mercy to thousands of those who love Me and keep My Commandments.

“You shall not lift up the Name of the LORD your God in a frivolous way. For the LORD will not hold him guiltless who lifts up His Name frivolously.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

“Six days shall you labor and do all your work.

10 “But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. On it, you shall not do any work—you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maid, nor your beast, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

11 “For in six days, the LORD made the sky and the earth, the sea, and all that therein are, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the LORD blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it.

12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.

13 “You shall not murder.

14 “You shall not commit adultery.

15 “You shall not steal.

16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; nor shall you covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maid, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

18 And all the people saw the thunder and the lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it they fled and stood at a distance,

19 and said to Moses, “Talk with us and we will hear! But do not let God talk with us, lest we die!”

20 Then Moses said to the people, “Do not fear. For God has come to test you, and to lay His fear before you, so that you do not sin.”

21 So, the people stood at a distance. But Moses drew near to the darkness where God was.

James 1:2-8

My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into diverse trials,

knowing that the trying of your faith brings forth patience.

And let patience have her perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives liberally to all and reproaches no one. And it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, and do not waver. For the one who wavers is like a wave of the sea, tossed by the wind and carried away.

Do not let that man think he shall receive anything from the Lord.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
