Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
15 “Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil,
16 “in that I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His Commandments, and His Ordinances, and His Laws, so that you may live and be multiplied, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land to which you go to possess.
17 “But if your heart turns away, so that you will not obey but shall be seduced and worship other gods and serve them,
18 “I pronounce to you this day that you shall surely perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land which you pass over Jordan to possess.
19 “I call Heaven and Earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that you and your seed may live
20 “by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His Voice, and by clinging to Him. For He is your life, and the length of your days, so that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give them.”
ALEPH
1 Blessed are those who are upright in their way and walk in the Law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are those who keep His Testimonies and seek Him with their whole heart.
3 Surely, they work no iniquity, but walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded to keep Your Precepts diligently.
5 Oh that my ways were directed to keep Your Statutes!
6 Then I would not be confounded, with respect to all Your Commandments.
7 I will praise You with an upright heart, when I shall learn the Judgments of Your righteousness.
8 I will keep Your Statutes. Do not forsake me utterly.
3 And I could not speak to you, brothers, as to spiritual men, but as to carnal, as to infants in Christ.
2 I gave you milk to drink, and not solid food. For you were not yet able to bear it, nor are you able even now.
3 For you are still fleshly, since there is among you envying and strife and divisions. Are you not still carnal, and walking as man?
4 For when one says, ‘I am Paul’s’, and another, ‘I am Apollos’s’, are you not carnal?
5 Who is Paul then? And who is Apollos, but the ministers, by whom you believed, and as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.
7 So then, neither is he who plants anything, nor he who waters. But God gives the increase.
8 And he who plants, and he who waters, are one. And everyone shall receive his wages, according to his labor.
9 For we together are God’s laborers. You are God’s fellow workers, and God’s building.
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of the old time, ‘You shall not murder’. For whoever murders shall be culpable of judgment.
22 “But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother unadvisedly, shall be culpable of judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca’, shall be worthy to be punished by the Council. And whoever shall say, ‘Fool’, shall be worthy to be punished with Hell fire.
23 “If, then, you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24 “leave your offering there before the altar and go your way. First, be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift.
25 “Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge delivers you to the sergeant, and you are cast into prison.
26 “Truly I say to you, you shall not come out from there, till you have paid the last coin.
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old time, ‘You shall not commit adultery’.
28 “But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman, to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 “So if your right eye causes you to offend, pluck it out and cast it from you. For better it is for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body should be cast into Hell.
30 “Also if your right hand makes you offend, cut it off, and cast it from you. For better it is for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body should be cast into Hell.
31 “It has been said also, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a bill of divorcement’.
32 “But I say to you, whoever shall divorce his wife (except for promiscuity) causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who is divorced, commits adultery.
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old time, ‘You shall not swear false oaths, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord’.
34 “But I say to you do not swear at all, neither by Heaven (for it is the throne of God)
35 “nor by the Earth (for it is His footstool), nor by Jerusalem (for it is the city of the great King).
36 “Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
37 “But let your communication be ‘Yes, yes. No, no.’ For whatever is more than these, comes from evil.
