Psalm 119:1-8

Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God.

Aleph.

119 How blessed are those whose way is [a](A)blameless,
Who (B)walk in the law of the Lord.
How blessed are those who (C)observe His testimonies,
Who (D)seek Him (E)with all their heart.
They also (F)do no unrighteousness;
They walk in His ways.
You have [b](G)ordained Your precepts,
[c]That we should keep them diligently.
Oh that my (H)ways may be established
To (I)keep Your statutes!
Then I (J)shall not be ashamed
When I look [d]upon all Your commandments.
I shall (K)give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I shall keep Your statutes;
Do not (L)forsake me utterly!

Deuteronomy 30:1-9

Restoration Promised

30 “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, (A)the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you [a]call them to mind (B)in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you, and you (C)return to the Lord your God and [b]obey Him (D)with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, then the Lord your God will (E)restore [c]you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and (F)will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has (G)scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the [d]earth, (H)from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will [e]bring you back. (I)The Lord your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and He will prosper you and (J)multiply you more than your fathers.

“Moreover (K)the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your [f]descendants, (L)to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live. (M)The Lord your God will [g]inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. And you shall again [h]obey the Lord, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. (N)Then the Lord your God will [i]prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the [j]offspring of your [k]body and in the [l]offspring of your cattle and in the [m]produce of your ground, for (O)the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers;

Matthew 15:1-9

Tradition and Commandment

15 (A)Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus (B)from Jerusalem and said, “Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they (C)do not wash their hands when they eat bread.” And He answered and said to them, “Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, ‘(D)Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘(E)He who speaks evil of father or mother is to [a]be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever I have that would help you has been [b]given to God,” he is not to honor his father or his mother[c].’ And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:

(F)This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far away from Me.
But in vain do they worship Me,
Teaching as (G)doctrines the precepts of men.’”
