Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Nun.
105 Your word is a (A)lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
106 I have (B)sworn and I will confirm it,
That I will keep Your righteous ordinances.
107 I am exceedingly (C)afflicted;
[a](D)Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word.
108 O accept the (E)freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord,
And (F)teach me Your ordinances.
109 My [b](G)life is continually [c]in my hand,
Yet I do not (H)forget Your law.
110 The wicked have (I)laid a snare for me,
Yet I have not (J)gone astray from Your precepts.
111 I have (K)inherited Your testimonies forever,
For they are the (L)joy of my heart.
112 I have (M)inclined my heart to perform Your statutes
Forever, even (N)to the end.
6 Go to the (A)ant, O (B)sluggard,
Observe her ways and be wise,
7 Which, having (C)no chief,
Officer or ruler,
8 Prepares her food (D)in the summer
And gathers her provision in the harvest.
9 How long will you lie down, O sluggard?
When will you arise from your sleep?
10 “(E)A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to [a]rest”—
11 (F)Your poverty will come in like a [b]vagabond
And your need like [c]an armed man.
12 A (G)worthless person, a wicked man,
Is the one who walks with a (H)perverse mouth,
13 Who (I)winks with his eyes, who [d]signals with his feet,
Who [e]points with his fingers;
14 Who with (J)perversity in his heart continually (K)devises evil,
Who [f](L)spreads strife.
15 Therefore (M)his calamity will come suddenly;
(N)Instantly he will be broken and there will be (O)no healing.
16 There are six things which the Lord hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination [g]to Him:
17 (P)Haughty eyes, a (Q)lying tongue,
And hands that (R)shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises (S)wicked plans,
(T)Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A (U)false witness who utters lies,
And one who [h](V)spreads strife among brothers.
20 (W)My son, observe the commandment of your father
And do not forsake the [i]teaching of your mother;
21 (X)Bind them continually on your heart;
Tie them around your neck.
22 When you (Y)walk about, [j]they will guide you;
When you sleep, [k]they will watch over you;
And when you awake, [l]they will talk to you.
23 For (Z)the commandment is a lamp and the [m]teaching is light;
And reproofs for discipline are the way of life
Jesus Is the Light of the World
12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “(A)I am the Light of the world; (B)he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” 13 So the Pharisees said to Him, “(C)You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not [a]true.” 14 Jesus answered and said to them, “(D)Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is [b]true, for I know (E)where I came from and where I am going; but (F)you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 (G)You judge [c]according to the flesh; (H)I am not judging anyone. 16 But even (I)if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me. 17 Even in (J)your law it has been written that the testimony of (K)two men is [d]true. 18 I am He who testifies about Myself, and (L)the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” 19 So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; (M)if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.” 20 These words He spoke in (N)the treasury, as (O)He taught in the temple; and no one seized Him, because (P)His hour had not yet come.
21 Then He said again to them, “I go away, and (Q)you will seek Me, and (R)will die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come.” 22 So (S)the Jews were saying, “Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘(T)Where I am going, you cannot come’?” 23 And He was saying to them, “(U)You are from below, I am from above; (V)you are of this world, (W)I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you (X)will die in your sins; for unless you believe that [e](Y)I am He, (Z)you will die in your sins.” 25 So they were saying to Him, “Who are You?” Jesus said to them, “[f]What have I been saying to you from the beginning? 26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but (AA)He who sent Me is true; and (AB)the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world.” 27 They did not realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father. 28 So Jesus said, “When you (AC)lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that [g](AD)I am He, and (AE)I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. 29 And He who sent Me is with Me; (AF)He [h]has not left Me alone, for (AG)I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” 30 As He spoke these things, (AH)many came to believe in Him.
