Psalm 76

76 1 This Psalm setteth forth the power of God, and care for the defense of his people in Jerusalem, in the destruction of the army of Sennacherib: 11 and exhorteth the faithful to be thankful for the same.

To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalm, or song committed to Asaph.

God is [a]known in Judah: his Name is great in Israel.

For in [b]Salem is his Tabernacle, and his dwelling in Zion.

There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

Thou art more bright and puissant, than [c]the mountains of prey.

The stouthearted are spoiled: they have slept their sleep, and all the men of strength have not [d]found their hands.

At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast asleep.

Thou, even thou art to be feared; and who shall stand in thy [e]sight, when thou art angry!

Thou didst cause thy judgment to be heard from heaven; therefore the earth feared, and was still,

When thou, O God, arose to judgment, to [f]help all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10 Surely the [g]rage of man shall turn to thy praise; the remnant of the rage shalt thou restrain.

11 Vow and perform unto the Lord your God, all ye that be [h]round about him; let them bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 He shall [i]cut off the spirit of princes; he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

Isaiah 66:14-24

14 And when ye see this, your hearts shall rejoice, and your [a]bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known among his servants, and his indignation against his enemies.

15 For behold, the Lord will come with fire, and his chariots like a whirlwind, that he may [b]recompense his anger with wrath, and his indignation with the flame of fire.

16 For the Lord will judge with fire, and with his sword all flesh, and the flame of the Lord shall be many.

17 They that sanctify [c]themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst eating [d]swine’s flesh, and such abomination, even the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

18 For I will visit their works, and their imaginations, for it shall come that I will gather all nations, and tongues, and they shall come, and see my [e]glory.

19 And I will set a [f]sign among them, and will send those that [g]escape of them unto the nations of [h]Tarshish, [i]Pul, and [j]Lud, and to them that draw the [k]bow, to [l]Tubal and [m]Javan, isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory, and [n]they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

20 And they shall bring all your [o]brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations, upon [p]horses, and in chariots, and in horse litters, and upon mules, and swift beasts, to Jerusalem mine holy Mountain, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel offer in a clean vessel in the House of the Lord.

21 And I will take of them for [q]Priests, and for Levites, saith the Lord.

22 For as the new [r]heavens, and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name continue.

23 And from month to month, and from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the [s]carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their [t]worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched, and they shall be an abhorring [u]unto all flesh.

Matthew 23:37-24:14

37 (A)[a]Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the Prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee, how often would I have [b]gathered thy children together, as the hen gathered her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your habitation shall be left unto you desolate.

39 For I say unto you, ye shall not see me henceforth till that ye say, Blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord.

24 2 The destruction of the Temple. 4 The signs of Christ’s coming. 12 Iniquity. 23 False Christs. 29 The signs of the end of the world. 31 The Angels. 32 The fig tree. 37 The days of Noah. 42 We must watch. 45 The servant.

And (B)Jesus went out, and departed from the Temple, and his disciples came to him, to show him the building of the Temple.

[c]And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, (C)there shall not be here left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be cast down.

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, his disciples came unto him apart, saying, Tell us when these things shall be, and what sign shall be of thy coming, and of the end of the world.

[d]And Jesus answered, and said unto them, (D)Take heed that no man deceive you.

For many shall come in my Name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many.

And ye shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not (E)troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the [e]end is not yet.

For nation shall rise against nation, and realm against realm, and there shall be famine, and pestilence, and earthquakes in [f]divers places.

All these are but the beginning of [g]sorrows.

(F)Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my Name’s sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall be increased, the love of many shall be cold.

13 (G)[h]But he that endureth to the end, he shall be saved.

14 And this [i]Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached through the whole [j]world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.
