¹⁷ For behold I create new heavens, and a new earth: and the former things shall not be in remembrance, and they shall not come upon the heart.

¹⁸ But you shall be glad and rejoice for ever in these things, which I create: for behold I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and the people thereof joy.

¹⁹ And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people, and the voice of weeping shall no more be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

²⁰ There shall no more be an infant of days there, nor an old man that shall not fill up his days: for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed.

²¹ And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruits of them.

²² They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of my people, and the works of their hands shall be of long continuance.

²³ My elect shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth in trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their posterity with them.

²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will hear; as they are yet speaking, I will hear.

²⁵ The wolf and the lamb shall feed together; the lion and the ox shall eat straw; and dust shall be the serpent's food: they shall not hurt nor kill in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.

12 And thou shalt say in that day: I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, for thou wast angry with me: thy wrath is turned away, and thou hast comforted me.

² Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: O because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.

³ You shall draw waters with joy out of the saviour's fountains:

⁴ And you shall say in that day: Praise ye the Lord, and call upon his name: make his works known among the people: remember that his name is high.

⁵ Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath done great things: shew this forth in all the earth.

⁶ Rejoice, and praise, O thou habitation of Sion: for great is he that is in the midst of thee, the Holy One of Israel.

⁶ And we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the tradition which they have received of us.

⁷ For yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we were not disorderly among you;

⁸ Neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing, but in labour and in toil we worked night and day, lest we should be chargeable to any of you.

⁹ Not as if we had not power: but that we might give ourselves a pattern unto you, to imitate us.

¹⁰ For also when we were with you, this we declared to you: that, if any man will not work, neither let him eat.

¹¹ For we have heard there are some among you who walk disorderly, working not at all, but curiously meddling.

¹² Now we charge them that are such, and beseech them by the Lord Jesus Christ, that, working with silence, they would eat their own bread.

¹³ But you, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

⁵ And some saying of the temple, that it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said:

⁶ These things which you see, the days will come in which there shall not be left a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down.

⁷ And they asked him, saying: Master, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when they shall begin to come to pass?

⁸ Who said: Take heed you be not seduced; for many will come in my name, saying, I am he; and the time is at hand: go ye not therefore after them.

⁹ And when you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified: these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet presently.

¹⁰ Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

¹¹ And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be great signs.

¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for my name's sake.

¹³ And it shall happen unto you for a testimony.

¹⁴ Lay it up therefore into your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer:

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay.

¹⁶ And you shall be betrayed by your parents and brethren, and kinsmen and friends; and some of you they will put to death.

¹⁷ And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake.

¹⁸ But a hair of your head shall not perish.

¹⁹ In your patience you shall possess your souls.
