^4 (C)Blessed is the man You ^(D)choose,
And cause to approach You,
That he may dwell in Your courts.
^(E)We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Of Your holy temple.

⁵ By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,
And of the far-off seas;
⁶ Who established the mountains by His strength,
^(F)Being clothed with power;
^7 (G)You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
^(H)And the tumult of the peoples.
⁸ They also who dwell in the farthest parts are afraid of Your signs;
You make the outgoings of the morning and evening ^[b]rejoice.

⁹ You ^[c]visit the earth and ^(I)water it,
You greatly enrich it;
^(J)The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
¹⁰ You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.

¹¹ You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
¹² They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.
¹³ The pastures are clothed with flocks;
^(K)The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.

^15 (H)Blow the ^[a]trumpet in Zion,
^(I)Consecrate a fast,
Call a sacred assembly;
¹⁶ Gather the people,
^(J)Sanctify the congregation,
Assemble the elders,
Gather the children and nursing babes;
^(K)Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber,
And the bride from her dressing room.
¹⁷ Let the priests, who minister to the Lord,
Weep ^(L)between the porch and the altar;
Let them say, ^(M)“Spare Your people, O Lord,
And do not give Your heritage to reproach,
That the nations should ^[b]rule over them.
^(N)Why should they say among the peoples,
‘Where is their God?’ ”

²⁰ “But ^(R)I will remove far from you ^(S)the northern army,
And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
With his face toward the eastern sea
And his back ^(T)toward the western sea;
His stench will come up,
And his foul odor will rise,
Because he has done ^[c]monstrous things.”

²¹ Fear not, O land;
Be glad and rejoice,
For the Lord has done ^[d]marvelous things!
²² Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
For ^(U)the open pastures are springing up,
And the tree bears its fruit;
The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.

^(A)“My soul ^[a]magnifies the Lord,
⁴⁷ And my spirit has ^(B)rejoiced in ^(C)God my Savior.
⁴⁸ For ^(D)He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth ^(E)all generations will call me blessed.
⁴⁹ For He who is mighty ^(F)has done great things for me,
And ^(G)holy is His name.
⁵⁰ And ^(H)His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
^51 (I)He has shown strength with His arm;
^(J)He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
^52 (K)He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
⁵³ He has ^(L)filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
⁵⁴ He has helped His ^(M)servant Israel,
^(N)In remembrance of His mercy,
^55 (O)As He spoke to our ^(P)fathers,
To Abraham and to his ^(Q)seed forever.”
