Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
27 “Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will sow the House of Israel, and the House of Judah, with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.
28 “And just as I have watched against them to pluck up and to root out and to throw down and to destroy and to plague, so will I watch over them to build and to plant,” says the LORD.
29 “In those days, they shall no longer say, ‘The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’
30 “But everyone shall die for his own iniquity. Every man who eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
31 “Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will make a new Covenant with the House of Israel, and with the House of Judah —
32 “not according to the Covenant that I made with their Fathers, when I took them by the hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My Covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” says the LORD.
33 “But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel: After those days, says the LORD, I will put My Law in their core, and write it on their hearts, and will be their God. And they shall be My people.
34 “And they shall no longer teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” says the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity and will no longer remember their sins.”
MEM
97 Oh how love I Your Law! It is my meditation continually.
98 By Your Commandments You have made me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.
99 I have had more understanding than all my teachers, for Your Testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understood more than the aged, because I kept Your Precepts.
101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep Your Word.
102 I have not turned away from Your Judgments, for You have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your promises to my mouth; yea, more than honey to my mouth!
104 By Your Precepts I have gotten understanding. Therefore, I hate all the ways of falsehood.
14 But you continue in the things which you have learned (and which are committed to you), knowing from Whom you have learned them,
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 For the whole Scripture is given by inspiration from God; and is profitable for teaching, convicting, correcting, and instructing in righteousness.
17 So that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
4 Therefore, I charge you before God and before the Lord Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the living and dead at His appearing and in His Kingdom:
2 Preach the Word! Be ready, in season and out of season. Convict, rebuke, encourage, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. But having itching ears, they shall gather a heap of teachers according to their own lusts
4 and shall turn their ears from the truth and shall be given to fables.
5 But you, be sober in all things. Suffer adversity. Do the work of an evangelist. Carry out your ministry fully.
18 And He also spoke a parable to them showing that they ought always to pray and not grow weary,
2 He said, “There was a judge in a certain city who neither feared God nor respected man.
3 “And there was a widow in that city who came to him saying, ‘Do me justice against my adversary.’
4 “And he would not do so for some time. But then, he said to himself, ‘I neither fear God nor respect man.
5 ‘Yet because this widow troubles me I will do her right, lest she keeps coming and makes me weary.’”
6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says.
7 “Now, shall not God avenge His Elect, who cry day and night to Him, even though He bears with them a long time?
8 “I tell you, He will avenge them quickly! But, when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the Earth?”
