Psalm 119:97-104

MEM

97 Oh how love I Your Law! It is my meditation continually.

98 By Your Commandments You have made me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.

99 I have had more understanding than all my teachers, for Your Testimonies are my meditation.

100 I understood more than the aged, because I kept Your Precepts.

101 I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep Your Word.

102 I have not turned away from Your Judgments, for You have taught me.

103 How sweet are Your promises to my mouth; yea, more than honey to my mouth!

104 By Your Precepts I have gotten understanding. Therefore, I hate all the ways of falsehood.

Jeremiah 26:16-24

16 Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the Prophets, “This man is not worthy to die! For he has spoken to us in the Name of the LORD our God!”

17 Then some of the elders of the land rose up and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,

18 “Micah the Morashite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, “Thus says the LORD of Hosts: ‘Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall be a heap, and the mountain of the House shall be as the high places of the forest.’

19 “Did Hezekiah, king of Judah, and all Judah, put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD and pray before the LORD? And did not the LORD relent from the plague that he had pronounced against them? But we procure great evil against our souls.”

20 And there was also a man who prophesied in the Name of the LORD: Urijah, the son of Shemaiah, of Kirjath Jearim; who prophesied against this city and against this land, according to all the words of Jeremiah.

21 Now when Jehoiakim the king, with all his men of power and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to kill him. But when Urijah heard it, he was afraid and fled, and went into Egypt.

22 Then Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt — Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain with him — into Egypt.

23 And they fetched Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.

24 But the hand of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, was with Jeremiah, so that they would not give him into the hand of the people, to put him to death.

2 Timothy 2:14-26

14 Remind them of these things. And testify before the Lord that they do not strive about words (which is of no use, except for the subversion of the hearers).

15 Be eager to present yourself to God approved; a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

16 But stay away from godless and empty babblings. For they shall increase to more ungodliness.

17 And their word shall grow like gangrene. Of which sort is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 who, as concerning the truth, have erred from the mark; saying that the resurrection has already passed, destroying the faith of some.

19 But the foundation of God remains sure, as has this seal: “The Lord knows who are His,” and, “Let everyone who calls on the Name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

20 But, in a great house are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some for honor, and some for dishonor.

21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these, he shall be a vessel for honor; sanctified and useful to the Lord, having been prepared for every good work.

22 Also, flee from the lusts of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart).

23 And put away foolish and uneducated questions, knowing that they beget strife.

24 The servant of the Lord must not strive, but must be gentle toward all, able to teach, forbearing;

25 disciplining those who oppose with humility, in case God might give them repentance at any time so that they may acknowledge the Truth

26 and repent out of that snare of the devil (of whom they have been taken prisoner), to do His will.
