Psalm 29

29 1 The Prophet exhorteth the princes and rulers of the world (which for the most part think there is no God.) 3 At the least to fear him for the thunders and tempests, for fear whereof all creatures tremble. 11 And though thereby God threateneth sinners, yet he is always merciful to his, and moveth them thereby to praise his Name.

A Psalm of David.

Give unto the Lord, ye [a]sons of the mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto the Lord glory due unto his Name: worship the Lord in the glorious Sanctuary.

The [b]voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory maketh it to thunder: the Lord is upon the great waters.

The voice of the Lord is mighty: the voice of the Lord is glorious.

The [c]voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

He maketh them also to leap like a calf: Lebanon also and [d]Shirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the Lord divideth the [e]flames of fire.

The voice of the Lord maketh the wilderness to tremble: the Lord maketh the wilderness of [f]Kadesh to tremble.

The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to [g]calve, and [h]discovereth the forests: therefore in his [i]Temple doth every man speak of his glory.

10 The Lord sitteth upon the [j]floods, and the Lord doth remain King forever.

11 The Lord shall give strength unto his people: the Lord shall bless his people with peace.

Ezekiel 3:12-21

12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a noise of a great rushing, saying, [a]Blessed be the glory of the Lord out of his place.

13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the beasts, that touched one another, and the rattling of the wheels that were by them, even a noise of a great rushing.

14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I [b]went in bitterness and indignation of my spirit, but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

15 Then I came to them that were led away captives to [c]Tel Abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them [d]seven days.

16 And at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

17 Son of man, I have made thee a [e]watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me

18 When I shall say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die, and thou givest not him warning, nor speakest to admonish the wicked of his wicked way, that he may live, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity: but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet, if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 Likewise if a [f]righteous man turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, I will lay a [g]stumbling block before him and he shall die, because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his [h]righteous deeds, which he hath done, shall not be remembered: but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Nevertheless, if thou admonish that righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and that he doth not sin, he shall live because he is admonished: also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Luke 9:18-27

18 (A)[a]And it came to pass, as he was [b]alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

19 They answered, and said, John Baptist: and others say, Elijah: and some say, that one of the old Prophets is risen again.

20 And he said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered, and said: That Christ of God.

21 And he warned and commanded them, that they should tell that to no man,

22 [c]Saying, (B)The Son of man must suffer many things, and be reproved of the Elders, and of the high Priests and Scribes, and be slain, and the third day rise again.

23 (C)And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross [d]daily, and follow me.

24 (D)For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

25 (E)For what advantageth it a man, if he win the whole world, and destroy himself, or lose himself?

26 (F)For whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his glory, and in the glory of the Father, and of the holy Angels.

27 (G)And I tell you of a surety, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God.
