Nehemiah 8:1-3

2 Ezra gathereth together the people, and readeth to them the Law. 12 They rejoice in Israel for the knowledge of the word of God. 15 They keep the feast of Tabernacles or booths.

And all the people assembled themselves [a]together, in the street that was before the water gate, and they spake unto Ezra the [b]Scribe, that he would bring the book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.

And Ezra the Priest brought the Law before the Congregation both of men and women, and of all [c]that could hear and understand it, in the first day of the seventh month,

And he read therein in the street that was before the water gate (from the morning until [d]the midday) before men and women, and them that understood it, and the ears of all the people hearkened unto the book of the Law.

Nehemiah 8:5-6

And Ezra opened the book before all the people: for he was [a]above all the people: and when he opened it, all the people stood up.

And Ezra praised the Lord the great God, and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed themselves, and worshipped the Lord with their faces toward the ground.

Nehemiah 8:8-10

And they read in the book of the Law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

Then Nehemiah (which is Tirshatha) and Ezra the Priest and Scribe, and the Levites that instructed the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God: mourn not, neither weep: for all the people [a]wept, when they heard the words of the Law.

10 He said also unto them, Go and eat of the fat, and drink the sweet, and send part unto them, for whom none is [b]prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: be ye not sorry therefore: for the [c]joy of the Lord is your strength.

Psalm 19

19 1 To the intent he might move the faithful to deeper consideration of God’s glory, he setteth before their eyes the most exquisite workmanship of the heavens, with their proportion, and ornaments. 8 And afterward calleth them to the Law, wherein God hath revealed himself more familiarly to his chosen people.  The which peculiar grace by commending the Law, he setteth forth more at large.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm of David.

The (A)[a]heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth the work of his hands.

[b]Day unto day uttereth the same, and night unto night teacheth knowledge.

There is no speech nor [c]language, where their voice is not heard.

Their [d]line is gone forth through all the earth, and their words into the ends of the world: in them hath he set a tabernacle for the Sun.

Which cometh forth as a bridegroom out of his [e]chamber, and rejoiceth like a mighty man to run his race.

His going out is from the end of the heaven, and his compass is unto the ends of the same, and none is hid from the heat thereof.

The [f]Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, and giveth wisdom unto the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the heart, the commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth light unto the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, and endureth forever: the judgments of the Lord are [g]truth: they are righteous [h]altogether,

10 And more to be [i]desired than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant made circumspect, and in keeping of them there is great [j]reward.

12 Who can understand his [k]faults? cleanse me from secret faults.

13 Keep thy servant also from [l]presumptuous sins: let them not reign over me: [m]so shall I be upright, and made clean from much wickedness.

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the [n]meditation of mine heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord my strength, and my redeemer.

1 Corinthians 12:12-31

12 [a]For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, which is one, though they be many, yet are but one body: [b]even so is [c]Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into [d]one body, whether we be Jews, or Grecians, whether we be bond, or free, and have been all made to [e]drink into one Spirit.

14 [f]For the body also is not one member, but many.

15 [g]If the foot would say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear would say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?

17 [h]If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God disposed the members every one of them in the body at his own pleasure.

19 For if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are there many members, yet but one body.

21 [i]And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor the head again to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Yea, much rather those members of the body, which seem to be [j]more feeble, are necessary.

23 And upon those members of the body, which we think most unhonest, put we more [k]honesty on: and our uncomely parts have more comeliness on.

24 For our comely parts need it not: but God hath tempered the body together: and hath given the more honor to that part which lacked,

25 Lest there should be any division in the body: but that the members should have the same [l]care one for another.

26 [m]Therefore if one member suffer, all suffer with it: if one member be had in honor, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members for your [n]part.

28 (A)And God hath ordained some in the Church: as first Apostles, secondly Prophets, thirdly teachers, then them that do miracles: after that, the gifts of healing, [o]helpers, [p]governors, diversity of tongues.

29 Are all Apostles? are all Prophets? are all teachers?

30 Are all doers of miracles? have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 [q]But desire you the best gifts, and I will yet show you a more excellent way.

Luke 4:14-21

14 ¶ And Jesus returned by the power of the spirit into Galilee: and there went a fame of him throughout all the region round about:

15 For he taught in their Synagogues, and was honored of all men.

16 (A)[a]And he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up, and (as his custom was) went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the Prophet Isaiah: and when he had [b]opened the book, he found the place, where it was written,

18 (B)The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me, that I should preach the Gospel to the poor: he hath sent me, that I should heal the brokenhearted, that I should preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, that I should set at liberty them that are bruised:

19 And that I should preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and gave it again to the minister, and sat down: and the eyes of all that were in the Synagogue were fastened on him.

21 Then he began to say unto them, This day is the Scripture fulfilled in your ears.
