Psalm 145

145 This Psalm was composed when the kingdom of David flourished. 1 Wherein he describeth the wonderful providence of God, as well in governing man, as in preserving all the rest of his creatures. 17 He praiseth God for his justice and mercy. 18 But specially for his loving-kindness toward those that call upon him, that fear him, and love him:  21 For the which he promiseth to praise him forever.

A Psalm of David of praise.

O my God and King, [a]I will extol thee, and will bless thy Name forever and ever.

I will bless thee daily, and praise thy Name forever and ever.

[b]Great is the Lord, and most worthy to be praised, and his greatness is incomprehensible.

Generation shall praise thy works unto [c]generation, and declare thy power.

I will meditate of the beauty of thy glorious majesty, and thy wonderful works.

And they shall speak of the power of thy [d]dreadful acts, and I will declare thy greatness.

They shall break out into the mention of thy great goodness, and shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

(A)The Lord is gracious, and [e]merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercy.

The Lord is good to all, and his mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works praise thee, O Lord, and thy Saints bless thee.

11 [f]They show the glory of thy kingdom, and speak of thy power,

12 To cause his [g]power to be known to the sons of men, and the glorious renown of his kingdom.

13 Thy (B)kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all ages.

14 The Lord upholdeth all that [h]fall, and lifteth up all that are ready to fall.

15 The eyes of [i]all wait upon thee, and thou givest them their meat in due season.

16 Thou openest thine hand, and fillest all things living of thy good pleasure.

17 The Lord is [j]righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

18 The Lord is near unto all that call upon him, yea, to all that call upon him in [k]truth.

19 He will fulfill the [l]desire of them that fear him; he will also hear their cry, and will save them.

20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him; but he will destroy the wicked.

21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all [m]flesh shall bless his holy Name forever and ever.

Song of Solomon 4:1-8

1 The praises of the Church. 7 She is without blemish in his sight. 9 The love of Christ towards her.

Behold, thou art [a]fair, my love: behold, thou art fair: thine eyes are like the doves: among thy locks (A)thine hair is like the [b]flock of goats, which look down from the mountain of Gilead.

Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep in good order, which go up from the washing: which every one brings out twins, and none is barren among them.

Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy talk is comely: thy temples are within thy locks as a piece of a pomegranate.

Thy neck is as the tower of David built for defense: a thousand shields hang therein, and all the targets of the strong men.

Thy two [c]breasts are as two young roes that are twins, feeding among the lilies.

Until the day break, and the shadows fly away, I will go into the mountain of myrrh, and to the mountain of incense.

Thou art all fair my love, and there is no spot in thee.

[d]Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, even with me from Lebanon, and look from the top of Amana, from the top of Senir, and Hermon, from the dens of the lions, and from the mountains of the leopards.

1 Corinthians 1:3-17

[a]Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

[b]I thank my God always on your behalf for the grace of God, which is given you in Jesus Christ.

That in all things ye are made rich in him [c]in [d]all kind of speech, and in all knowledge:

[e]As the testimony of Jesus Christ hath been [f]confirmed in you:

So that ye are not destitute of any gift: (A)[g]waiting for the [h]appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(B)[i]Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be [j]blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(C)God is [k]faithful, by whom ye are called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 [l]Now I beseech you, brethren, by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that [m]ye all speak one thing, and that there be no dissensions among you: but be ye [n]knit together in one mind, and in one judgment.

11 [o]For it hath been declared unto me, my brethren, of you by them that are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 Now [p]this I say, that every one of you saith, I am Paul’s, and I am (D)Apollos’s, and I am Cephas’s and I am Christ’s.

13 [q]Is Christ divided? was [r]Paul crucified for you? either were ye [s]baptized into the name of Paul?

14 [t]I thank God, that I baptized none of you, but (E)Crispus, and Gaius,

15 Lest any should say, that I had baptized into mine own name.

16 I baptized also the household of Stephanas: furthermore know I not, whether I baptized any other.

17 [u]For CHRIST sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, [v]not with (F)[w]wisdom of words, lest the [x]cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
