25 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.

² My God, I trust in You. Let me not be confounded. Do not let my enemies rejoice over me.

³ So all who hope in You shall not be ashamed. Let those who transgress without cause be confounded.

⁴ Show me Your ways, O LORD, and teach me Your paths.

⁵ Lead me forth in Your truth and teach me. For You are the God of my salvation. In You do I trust, all the day.

⁶ Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies, and Your lovingkindness. For they have been forever.

⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my rebellions. But according to Your kindness remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.

⁸ Gracious and righteous are the LORD. Therefore, He will teach sinners in the way.

⁹ Those who are meek, He will guide in judgment and teach the humble His way.

¹⁰ All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

²⁶ “Yet they were disobedient and rebelled against You and cast Your Law behind their backs and killed Your Prophets who protested among them to turn them to You! And they committed great blasphemies!

²⁷ “Therefore, You delivered them into the hand of their enemies who troubled them! Still, in the time of their affliction, when they cried to You, You heard them from Heaven! And through Your great mercies, You gave them saviors, who saved them out of the hand of their adversaries!

²⁸ “But when they had rest, they returned to do evil before You! Therefore, You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them! Yet, when they returned and cried to You, You heard them from Heaven and delivered them according to Your great mercies, many times,

²⁹ “and testified among them, so that You might bring them back to Your Law! But they behaved proudly and did not listen to Your Commandments, but sinned against Your Judgments (which a man should do and live in them) and pulled away the shoulder and were stiff-necked and would not hear!

³⁰ “Yet, You put up with them for many years, and testified among them by Your Spirit, by the hand of Your Prophets, but they would not hear! Therefore, You gave them into the hand of the people of the lands!

³¹ “Yet, because of Your great mercies, You have not consumed them or forsaken them! For You are a gracious and merciful God!

²⁰ “And when you see Jerusalem besieged by soldiers, then understand that its desolation is near.

²¹ “Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. And let those who are in the city depart. And do not let those who are in the country enter.

²² “For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all things that are written.

²³ “But woe to those who are with child, and to those who nurse, in those days. For there shall be great distress in this land, and wrath over this people.

²⁴ “And they shall fall on the edge of the sword and shall be led as captives into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trampled under the feet of the Gentiles, until the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled.
