Version
1 Samuel 2:1-10

1 The song of Hannah. 12 The sons of Eli, wicked. 13 The new custom of the Priests. 18 Samuel ministereth before the Lord. 20 Eli blesseth Elkanah and his wife. 23 Eli reproveth his sons. 27 God sendeth a Prophet to Eli. 31 Eli is menaced for not chastising his children.

And Hannah [a]prayed, and said, Mine heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine [b]horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is [c]enlarged over mine enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation.

There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.

Speak [d]no more presumptuously: let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him enterprises are established.

The bow and the mighty men are broken, and the weak have girded themselves with strength.

They that were full, are hired forth for [e]bread, and the hungry are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne [f]seven: and she that had many children is feeble.

(A)The Lord killeth and maketh alive: bringeth down to the grave and raiseth up.

The Lord maketh poor and maketh rich: bringeth low, and exalteth.

(B)He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among [g]princes, and to make them inherit the seat of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the [h]Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

He will keep the feet of his Saints, and the wicked shall keep silence in darkness: for in his own might shall no man be strong.

10 The Lord’s adversaries shall be destroyed, and out of heaven shall he (C)thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the world, and shall give power unto his [i]King, and exalt the horn of his Anointed.

1 Samuel 2:18-21

18 ¶ Now Samuel being a young child ministered before the Lord, girded with a linen (A)Ephod.

19 And his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband, to offer the yearly sacrifice.

20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman, for [a]the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed unto their place.

21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons, and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the Lord.

Colossians 2:6-15

As ye have therefore [a]received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him.

Rooted and built in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving:

[b]Beware lest there be any man that [c]spoil you through philosophy, and vain deceit, [d]through the traditions of men, [e]according to the [f]rudiments of the world, [g]and not after Christ.

[h]For [i]in him [j]dwelleth [k]all the fullness of the Godhead [l]bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

11 [m]In whom also ye are circumcised with (A)circumcision made without hands, by putting off the [n]sinful body of the flesh, through the circumcision of Christ,

12 [o]In that ye are (B)[p]buried with [q]him through baptism, [r]in whom ye are also raised up together through the faith of the operation of [s]God, which raised him from the dead.

13 (C)[t]And you which were dead in sins, [u]and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, forgiving you all your trespasses,

14 [v]And putting out the (D)[w]handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, he even took it out of the way, and fastened it upon the cross,

15 And hath spoiled the [x]Principalities, and Powers, and hath [y]made a show of them openly, and hath triumphed over them in the [z]same cross.
