Ruth 3:1-5

1 Naomi giveth Ruth counsel. 8 She sleepeth at Boaz’s feet. 12 He acknowledgeth himself to be her kinsman.

Afterward Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, My daughter, shall not I seek [a]rest for thee, that thou mayest prosper?

Now also is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley tonight in the [b]floor.

Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: let not the [c]man know of thee, until he have left eating and drinking.

And when he shall sleep, mark the place where he layeth him down, and go, and uncover the place of his feet, and lay thee down, and he shall tell thee what thou shalt do.

And she answered her, All that thou biddest me, I will do.

Ruth 4:13-17

13 ¶ So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave that she conceived, and bare a son.

14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, and [a]his name shall be continued in Israel.

15 And this shall bring thy life again, and cherish thine old age: for thy daughter-in-law which loveth thee, hath borne unto him, and she is better to thee than [b]seven sons.

16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her lap, and became nurse unto it.

17 And the women her neighbors gave it a name, saying, There is a child born to Naomi, and called the name thereof Obed: the same was the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Psalm 127

127 1 He showeth that the whole estate of the world, both domestical and political, standeth by God’s mere providence and blessing, 3 And that to have children well nurtured, is an especial grace and gift of God.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of Solomon.

Except the Lord [a]build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the [b]city, the keeper watcheth in vain.

It is in vain for [c]you to rise early, and to lie down late, and eat the bread [d]of sorrow: but he will surely give [e]rest to his beloved.

Behold, children are the inheritance of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb his reward.

As are the arrows in the hand of the strong man; so are the [f]children of youth.

Blessed is the man that hath his quiver full of them: for they [g]shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Hebrews 9:24-28

24 [a]For Christ is not entered into the holy places that are made with hands, which are similitudes of the true Sanctuary: but is entered into very heaven, to appear now in the sight of God for us,

25 [b]Not that he should offer himself often, as the high Priest entered into the Holy place every year with others’ blood,

26 [c](For then must he have often suffered since the foundation of the world) but now in the [d]end of the world hath he been made manifest, once to put away [e]sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27 And as it is appointed unto men that they shall [f]once die, and after that cometh the judgment:

28 So (A)Christ was once offered to take away the sins of [g]many, [h]and unto them that look for him, shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Mark 12:38-44

38 (A)[a]Moreover he said unto them in [b]his doctrine, Beware of the Scribes which love to go in [c]long robes, and love salutations in the markets,

39 And the chief seats in the Synagogues, and the first rooms at feasts,

40 Which (B)devour widows’ houses, even under a color of long prayers. These shall receive the greater damnation.

41 (C)[d]And as Jesus sat over against the treasury, he beheld how the people [e]cast money into the treasury, and many rich men cast in much.

42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a quadrin.

43 Then he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury.

44 For they all did cast in of their superfluity: but she of her poverty did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
