Job 23:1-9

23 But Job answered, and said,

“Though my talk be in bitterness today, and my plague greater than my groaning,

“I wish that I knew how to find Him. I would enter into His place.

“I would plead the cause before Him and fill my mouth with arguments.

“I would know the Words He would answer me and would understand what He would say to me.

“Would He plead against me with His great power? No, He would surely acknowledge me.

“There the righteous might reason with Him. So I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

“Behold, if I go to the East, He is not there. If to the West, yet I cannot perceive Him.

“If to the North where He works, yet I cannot see Him. He will hide Himself in the South, and I cannot behold Him.

Job 23:16-17

16 “For God has softened my heart. And the Almighty has terrified me.

17 “For I am not cut off in darkness. But He has hidden the darkness from my face.”

Psalm 22:1-15

22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me; are so far from My health and from the words of My roaring?

O, My God, I cry by day, but You do not hear; and by night but have no audience.

But You are Holy and inhabit the praises of Israel.

Our fathers trusted in You. They trusted, and You delivered them.

They called upon You and were delivered. They trusted in You and were not confounded.

But I am a worm, and not a man, a shame of men and the contempt of the people.

All those who see Me, hold Me in derision. They shoot out the lip and nod the head, saying,

“He trusted in the LORD. Let Him deliver Him. Let Him save Him, seeing He loves Him.”

But You drew Me out of the womb. You gave Me hope, even at My mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon You, even from the womb. You are My God, from My mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from Me, because trouble is near. For there is no one to help.

12 Many young bulls have surrounded Me. Mighty bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.

13 They gape upon Me with their mouths, a ramping and roaring lion.

14 I am like water poured out; and all My bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is molten in the midst of My core.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws; and You have brought Me into the dust of death.

Hebrews 4:12-16

12 For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, passing through even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to discern the thoughts and the intentions of the heart.

13 Nor is there any creature unseen by Him. But all things are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account.

14 Seeing, then, that we have a great High Priest Who has entered into Heaven (Jesus, the Son of God), let us hold firmly to our confession.

15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all things tempted in the same way, yet without sin.

16 Therefore, let us go boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Mark 10:17-31

17 And when He had gone on His way, someone came running and kneeled to Him and asked Him, “Good Master, what must I do so that I may possess eternal life?”

18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? There is no one good but One, even God.

19 “You know the Commandments: You shall not commit adultery. You shall not kill. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall hurt no man. Honor your father and mother.

20 Then he answered, and said to Him, “Master, all these things I have observed from my youth.”

21 And Jesus looked upon him and loved him and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go and sell all that you have. And give to the poor. And you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me. And take up the Cross.

22 But he was sad at that saying and went away sorrowful. For he had great possessions.

23 And Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!”

24 And His disciples were afraid at His Words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!

25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

26 And they were much more astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”

27 But Jesus looked upon them, and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For with God, all things are possible.”

28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “Lo, we have forsaken all, and have followed You.”

29 Jesus answered, and said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has forsaken house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My sake and the Gospels,

30 who shall not receive a hundredfold - now presently - houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands (with persecutions) and in the world to come, eternal life.

31 “But many who are first, shall be last; and the last, first.”
