Psalm 22:1-15

22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me; are so far from My health and from the words of My roaring?

O, My God, I cry by day, but You do not hear; and by night but have no audience.

But You are Holy and inhabit the praises of Israel.

Our fathers trusted in You. They trusted, and You delivered them.

They called upon You and were delivered. They trusted in You and were not confounded.

But I am a worm, and not a man, a shame of men and the contempt of the people.

All those who see Me, hold Me in derision. They shoot out the lip and nod the head, saying,

“He trusted in the LORD. Let Him deliver Him. Let Him save Him, seeing He loves Him.”

But You drew Me out of the womb. You gave Me hope, even at My mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon You, even from the womb. You are My God, from My mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from Me, because trouble is near. For there is no one to help.

12 Many young bulls have surrounded Me. Mighty bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.

13 They gape upon Me with their mouths, a ramping and roaring lion.

14 I am like water poured out; and all My bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is molten in the midst of My core.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws; and You have brought Me into the dust of death.

Job 17

17 “My spirit is broken. My days are cut off and the grave is ready for me.

“There are none but mockers with me, and my eye must dwell on their disobedience.

“Lay down, now, pledge for me with Yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?

“For You have hidden their heart from understanding. Therefore, You shall not exalt.

“For the eyes of his children shall fail who speaks flattery to friends.

“He has also made me a byword of the people, and I am as one spit on by them.

“My eye, therefore, is dim for grief, and all my strength like a shadow.

“The righteous shall be astonished at this. And the innocent shall be moved against the hypocrite.

“But the righteous will hold to his way. And he whose hands are pure shall increase strength.

10 “All you, therefore, return and come now. And I shall not find one wise among you.

11 “My days are past. My enterprises are broken. The thoughts of my heart

12 “have exchanged the night for the day and the light that approached for darkness.

13 “Though I hope, the grave shall be my house. I shall make my bed in the dark.

14 “I shall say to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ to the worm, ‘You are my mother and my sister.’

15 “Where now, then, is my hope? Or who shall consider the thing for which I hoped?

16 “It shall go down into the bottom of the pit. Surely they shall lie together in the dust.”

Hebrews 3:7-19

Therefore, as the Holy Ghost says, “Today, if you shall hear His voice,

“do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion on the day of temptation in the wilderness,

“where your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works for forty years.

10 “Therefore, I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘They always err in their heart, nor have they known My ways.’

11 “Therefore, I swear in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter into My rest.’”

12 Pay attention, brothers, lest at any time there be in any of you an evil and unfaithful heart, departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we have been made partakers of Christ, if we keep sure to the end that beginning which upholds us,

15 so long as it is said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

16 For some, when they heard, provoked Him to anger (though not all who came out of Egypt with Moses).

17 But with whom was He displeased for forty years? Was He not displeased with those who sinned; whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who disobeyed?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
