Esther 7:1-6

3 The queen biddeth the king and Haman again, and prayeth for herself and her people. 6 She accuseth Haman, and he is hanged on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai.

So the king and Haman came to banquet with the queen Esther.

And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of [a]wine, What is thy petition, Queen Esther, that it may be given thee? and what is thy request? It shall be even performed unto the half of the kingdom.

And Esther the queen answered, and said, If I have found favor in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.

For we are sold, I, and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish: but if we were sold for servants, and for handmaids, I would have held my tongue, although the adversary could not [b]recompense the king’s loss.

Then king Ahasuerus answered, and said unto the queen Esther, Who is he? and where is he that [c]presumeth to do thus?

And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Esther 7:9-10

And Harbonah one of the eunuchs, said in the presence of the King, Behold, there standeth yet the tree in Haman’s house fifty cubits high, which Haman had prepared for Mordecai, that spake [a]good for the king. Then the King said, Hang him thereon.

10 So they hanged Haman on the tree, that he had prepared for Mordecai: then was the King’s wrath pacified.

Esther 9:20-22

20 ¶ And Mordecai wrote [a]these words, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were through all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus, both near and far,

21 Enjoining them that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, every year.

22 According to the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a joyful day, to keep them the days of feasting and joy, and to [b]send presents every man to his neighbor, and gifts to the poor.

Psalm 124

124 The people of God, escaping a great peril, do acknowledge themselves to be delivered, not by their own force, but by the power of God. 4 They declare the greatness of the peril. 6 And praise the Name of God.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of David.

If the Lord had not been [a]on our side, (may Israel now say)

If the Lord had [not] been on our side, when men rose up against us,

They had then swallowed us up [b]quick, when their wrath was kindled against us.

Then the [c]waters had drowned us, and the stream had gone over our soul:

Then had the swelling waters gone over our soul.

Praised be the Lord, which hath not given us as a prey unto their teeth.

Our soul is escaped, even as a bird out of the [d]snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are delivered.

Our help is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heaven and earth.

James 5:13-20

13 [a]Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing.

14 [b]Is any sick among you? Let him call for the Elders of the Church, and let them pray for him, and anoint him with (A)[c]oil in the [d]Name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he have committed [e]sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 [f]Acknowledge your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed: [g]for the prayer of a righteous man availeth much, if it be fervent.

17 (B)Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again: and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

19 [h]Brethren, (C)If any of you hath erred from the truth, and some man hath [i]converted him,

20 Let him know that he which hath converted the sinner from going astray out of his way, shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Mark 9:38-50

38 (A)[a]Then John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils by thy Name, which followeth not us, and we forbade him, because he followeth us not.

39 (B)But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can do a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40 For whosoever is not against us, is on our part.

41 (C)And whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink for my Name’s sake, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

42 (D)[b]And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones, that believe in me, it were better for him rather, that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were cast into the sea.

43 (E)Wherefore if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched,

44 (F)Where their [c]worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

45 Likewise, if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched,

46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

47 And if thine eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out: it is better for thee to go into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire,

48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire never goeth out.

49 [d]For every man shall be [e]salted with fire: and (G)every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

50 (H)Salt is good: but if the salt be unsavory, wherewith shall it be seasoned? have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
