Psalm 73:21-28

21 Certainly mine heart was vexed, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 So foolish was I and ignorant: I was a [a]beast before thee.

23 Yet I was always [b]with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 Thou wilt guide me by thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in [c]heaven but thee? and I have desired none in the earth with thee.

26 My flesh faileth and mine heart also: but God is the strength of mine heart, and my [d]portion forever.

27 For lo, that they withdraw themselves from thee, shall perish: thou destroyest all them that [e]go a whoring from thee.

28 As for me, it is good for me [f]to draw near to God: therefore I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Proverbs 22:1-21

22 (A)A good name is to be chosen above great riches, and [a]loving favor is above silver and above gold.

(B)The rich and poor [b]meet together, the Lord is the maker of them all.

(C)A prudent man [c]seeth the plague, and hideth himself: but the foolish go on still, and are punished.

The reward of humility, and the fear of God is riches, and glory, and life.

Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: but he that regardeth his soul, will depart far from them.

Teach a child [d]in the trade of his way, and when he is old he shall not depart from it.

The rich ruleth the poor, and the borrower is servant to the man that lendeth.

He that soweth iniquity, shall reap affliction, and the [e]rod of his anger shall fail.

He that hath a good [f]eye, he shall be blessed: for he giveth of his bread unto the poor.

10 Cast out the scorner, and strife shall go out: so contention and reproach shall cease.

11 He that loveth pureness of heart for the grace of his lips, the [g]king shall be his friend.

12 The eyes of the Lord preserve [h]knowledge: but he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.

13 The slothful man saith, [i]A lion is without, I shall be slain in the street.

14 The mouth of strange women is as a deep pit: he with whom the Lord is angry, [j]shall fall therein.

15 Foolishness is bound [k]in the heart of a child: but the rod of correction shall drive it away from him.

16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase himself, and giveth unto the rich, shall surely come to poverty.

17 ¶ Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.

18 For it shall be pleasant, if thou keep them in thy belly, and if they be directed together in thy lips.

19 That thy confidence may be in [l]the Lord, I have showed thee this day: thou therefore take heed.

20 Have not I written unto thee [m]three times in counsels and knowledge,

21 That I might show thee the assurance of the words of truth, to answer the words of truth to them that send to thee?

Romans 3:9-20

[a]What then? are we more excellent? No, in no wise: for we have already proved, that all, both Jews and Gentiles are [b]under sin,

10 As it is written, (A)There is none righteous no not one.

11 There is none that understandeth: there is none that seeketh God.

12 They have all gone out of the way: they have been made altogether unprofitable: there is none that doeth good, no not one.

13 (B)Their throat is an open sepulcher: they have used their tongues to deceit: (C)the poison of asps is under their lips.

14 (D)Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

15 (E)Their feet are swift to shed blood.

16 Destruction and calamity are in their ways:

17 And the [c]way of peace they have not known.

18 (F)The fear of God is not before their eyes.

19 [d]Now we know that whatsoever the [e]law saith, it saith it to them which are under the law, that [f]every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be [g]subject to the judgment of God.

20 Therefore by the [h]works of the Law shall no [i]flesh be [j]justified in his [k]sight: for by the Law cometh the knowledge of sin.
