Version
Psalm 125

125 Those who trust in the LORD shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed but remains forever.

As the mountains are around Jerusalem, so the LORD is around His people from henceforth and forever.

For the rod of the wicked shall not rest on the lot of the righteous, lest the righteous put forth their hand to wickedness.

Do well, O LORD, to those who are good and true in their hearts.

But those who turn aside by their crooked ways, they shall be led by the LORD with the workers of iniquity. Peace upon Israel! A song of degrees, or Psalm, of David

Proverbs 1:1-19

The Proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, King of Israel:

to know wisdom and instruction; to understand the words of knowledge;

to receive instruction; to do wisely by justice and judgment and equity;

to give sharpness of wit to the simple, and knowledge and discretion to the child.

And a wise man shall hear and increase in learning. And a man of understanding shall attain to wise counsels;

to understand a parable and the interpretation, the words of the wise and their dark sayings.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

My son, hear your father’s instruction, and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

For they shall be a comely ornament for your head, and as chains for your neck.

10 My son, if the wicked entice you, do not consent.

11 If they say, “Come with us. We will lay in wait for blood, and lie secretly for the innocent, without a cause.

12 “We will swallow them up alive like a grave, even whole, as those who go down into the pit.

13 “We shall find all precious riches. And fill our houses with spoil:

14 “Cast in your lot among us. And we will all have one purse.”

15 My son, do not walk in the way with them. Keep your foot from their path.

16 For their feet run to evil and hurry to shed blood.

17 Certainly, as without cause, the net is spread before the eyes of all who have wing.

18 So they lay in wait for blood and lie secretly for their lives.

19 Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. He would take away the life of the owners thereof.

Romans 2:1-11

Therefore, you are without excuse, O man. Whoever you are who judges! For in whatever you judge another, you judge yourself. For you who judge do the same things.

But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth, against those who commit such things.

And do you think, O man - who judges those who do such things and yet does the same - that you shall escape the judgment of God?

Or do you think so little of the riches of His bountifulness and patience and long suffering, not knowing that the bountifulness of God leads you to repentance?

But you, because of your hardness and unrepentant heart, are laying up a treasure of wrath for yourself on the Day of wrath and revelation of the just judgment of God,

Who will reward everyone according to his works

(indeed, everlasting life to those who, through patience in well-doing, seek glory and honor and immortality,

but to those who are contentious and disobey the truth and obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath).

Tribulation and anguish shall be upon the soul of every man who does evil –the Jew first and also the Greek.

10 But glory and honor and peace shall be to everyone who does good - to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

11 For there is no partiality with God.
