Psalm 61

61 1 Whether that he were in danger of the Ammonites, or being pursued of Absalom, here he crieth to be heard and delivered, 7 And confirmed in his kingdom. 8 He promiseth perpetual praises.

To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalm of David.

Hear my cry, O God: give ear unto my prayer.

From [a]the ends of the earth will I cry unto thee: when mine heart is oppressed, bring me upon the rock that is [b]higher than I.

For thou hast been my hope, and a strong tower against the enemy.

I will dwell in thy Tabernacle forever, and my trust shall be under the covering of thy wings. Selah.

For thou, O God, [c]hast heard my desires; thou hast given an heritage unto those that fear thy Name.

Thou shalt give the King a [d]long life; his years shall be as many ages.

He shall dwell before God forever; prepare [e]mercy and faithfulness, that they may preserve him.

So will I always sing praise unto thy Name, in performing daily my vows.

2 Samuel 9

9 David restoreth all the lands of Saul’s to Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan. 10 He appointeth Ziba to see to the profit of his lands.

And David said, Is there yet any man left of the house of Saul, that I may show him mercy for [a]Jonathan’s sake?

And there was of the household of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, I thy servant am he.

Then the King said, Remaineth there yet none of the house of Saul, on whom I may show the [b]mercy of God? Ziba then answered the King, Jonathan hath yet a son (A)lame of his feet.

Then the King said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel of Lo Debar.

¶ Then king David sent, and took him out of the house of Machir the son of [c]Ammiel of Lo Debar.

Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan the son of Saul was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth? And he answered, Behold thy servant.

Then David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the [d]fields of Saul thy father, and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a [e]dead dog as I am?

Then the king called Ziba Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s [f]son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.

10 Thou therefore and [g]thy sons and thy servants shall till the land for him, and bring in that thy master’s son may have food to eat. And Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread always at my table (now Ziba had fifteen sons, and twenty servants.)

11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do, [h]that Mephibosheth may eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.

12 Mephibosheth also had a young son named Micha, and all that dwelled in the house of Ziba, were servants unto Mephibosheth.

13 And Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table, and was lame on both his feet.

Luke 15:1-7

15 The parable of the lost sheep. 8 Of the groat,  12 And of the prodigal son.

Then [a]resorted unto [b]him [c]all the Publicans and sinners, to hear him.

Therefore the Pharisees and Scribes murmured, saying, He receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

Then spake he this parable to them, saying,

(A)What man of you having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders with joy.

And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me: for I have found my sheep which was lost.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven for one sinner that converteth, more than for ninety and nine just men, which need none amendment of life.
