Psalm 61

61 1 Whether that he were in danger of the Ammonites, or being pursued of Absalom, here he crieth to be heard and delivered, 7 And confirmed in his kingdom. 8 He promiseth perpetual praises.

To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalm of David.

Hear my cry, O God: give ear unto my prayer.

From [a]the ends of the earth will I cry unto thee: when mine heart is oppressed, bring me upon the rock that is [b]higher than I.

For thou hast been my hope, and a strong tower against the enemy.

I will dwell in thy Tabernacle forever, and my trust shall be under the covering of thy wings. Selah.

For thou, O God, [c]hast heard my desires; thou hast given an heritage unto those that fear thy Name.

Thou shalt give the King a [d]long life; his years shall be as many ages.

He shall dwell before God forever; prepare [e]mercy and faithfulness, that they may preserve him.

So will I always sing praise unto thy Name, in performing daily my vows.

2 Samuel 7:18-29

18 ¶ Then King David went in, and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while: but [a]doth this appertain to [b]man, O Lord God?

20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy servant.

21 For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them known unto thy servant.

22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23 (A)And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himself, that they might be his people, and that he might make him a name, and do for [c]you great things, and terrible for [d]thy land, O Lord, even for thy people, whom thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the [e]nations, and their gods?

24 For thou hast [f]ordained to thyself thy people Israel to be thy people forever: and thou Lord art become their God.

25 Now therefore, O Lord God, confirm forever the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and his house, and do as thou hast said.

26 And let thy Name be magnified forever by them that shall say, The Lord of hosts is the God over Israel, and let the [g]house of thy servant David be established before thee.

27 For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed unto thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant [h]been bold to pray this prayer unto thee.

28 Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast told this goodness unto thy servant.)

29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue forever before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast [i]spoken it: and let the house of thy servant be blessed forever with thy blessing.

Hebrews 13:17-25

17 [a]Obey them that have the oversight of you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give accounts, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

18 [b]Pray for us, for we are assured that we have a good conscience in all things, desiring to live honestly.

19 And I desire you somewhat the more earnestly, that ye so do, that I may be restored to you more quickly.

20 The God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting Covenant,

21 Make you [c]perfect in all good works, to do his will, [d]working in you that which is pleasant in his sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise forever and ever, Amen.

22 I beseech you also, brethren, suffer the words of exhortation: for I have written unto you in few words.

23 Know that our brother Timothy is delivered, with whom (if he come shortly) I will see you.

24 Salute all them that have the oversight of you, and all the Saints. They of Italy salute you.

25 Grace be with you all, Amen.

¶ Written to the Hebrews from Italy, and sent by Timothy.
