Version
2 Samuel 7:1-14

Afterward, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies, all around,

the king said to Nathan the Prophet, “Behold, now I dwell in a house of cedar trees, and the Ark of God remains within the curtains.”

Then Nathan said to the king, “Go and do all that is in your heart. For the LORD is with you.”

And that same night, the Word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,

“Go and tell my servant, David, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Shall you build Me a house for My dwelling?

‘For I have dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt until this day but have moved about in a Tent and Tabernacle.

‘In every place I have moved about with all the children of Israel, have I ever spoken one word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I Commanded to feed My people Israel, saying, “Why did you not build Me a house of cedar trees?”’

“Now, therefore, so say to my servant David, ‘Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “I took you from the sheepfolds, following the sheep, so that you might be ruler over My people, over Israel.

“And I was with you wherever you have walked and have destroyed all your enemies out of your sight, and have made you a great name, like the names of the great men who are on the Earth.

10 “Also, I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant it, so that they may dwell in a place of their own and no longer move. Nor shall wicked people trouble them anymore as before,

11 “and since the time that I set judges over My people of Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies. Also, the LORD tells you that He will make you a house.

12 “And when your days are fulfilled, you shall sleep with your fathers. And I will set up your seed after you, who shall proceed out of your body, and will establish his kingdom.

13 “He shall build a House for My Name. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

14 “I will be his father, and he shall be my son. And if he sins, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the plagues of the children of men.

Psalm 89:20-37

20 “I have found David, My servant. With My holy oil have I anointed him.

21 “Therefore, My hand shall be established with him and My arm shall strengthen him.

22 “The enemy shall not oppress him, nor shall the wicked hurt him.

23 “But I will destroy his foes before his face and plague those who hate him.

24 “My truth also, and My mercy, shall be with him; and in My Name shall his horn be exalted.

25 “I will also set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the floods.

26 “He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’

27 “Also, I will make him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the Earth.

28 “I will keep My mercy for him for evermore; and My Covenant shall stand fast with him.

29 “I will also make his Seed endure forever, and his Throne as the days of Heaven.

30 “If his children forsake My Law and do not walk in My Judgments,

31 “if they break my statutes and do not keep My Commandments,

32 “then I will visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.

33 “Yet, I will not take My lovingkindness from him, nor will I falsify My truth.

34 “Nor will I break My Covenant, nor alter the thing that has gone out of My lips.

35 “I have sworn once, by My holiness, that I will not fail David.

36 “His Seed shall endure forever; and his Throne shall be as the Sun before Me.

37 “He shall be established forevermore as the Moon, and as a faithful witness in the heaven.” Selah.

Ephesians 2:11-22

11 Therefore, remember that you, being formerly Gentiles in the flesh (the ones called “uncircumcision” by those called “circumcision” in the flesh, made with hands),

12 that you were, at that time, without Christ; and were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel; and were strangers to the covenants of the promise; and had no hope; and were without God in the world.

13 But now, in Christ Jesus, you who were once far off, are made near by the blood of Christ.

14 For He is our peace. He has made of both, one, and has broken the barrier of hostility;

15 having annulled (through His flesh) the Law of Commandments contained in Ordinances, in order to make (in Himself) one new man from the two. And so, make peace,

16 so that He might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, and thereby slay hostility.

17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those who were near.

18 For through Him we both have access to the Father, by one Spirit.

19 Now therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 having been built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone.

21 In Him, all the building, fitted together, grows into a holy Temple in the Lord.

22 In Him, you also are being built together, to be the habitation of God by the Spirit.

Mark 6:30-34

30 And the Apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught.

31 And He said to them, “Come away into the wilderness, and rest a while.” For there were many comers and goers, that they had not had a chance to eat.

32 So they went by ship out of the way into a desert place.

33 But the people saw them when they departed and many knew Him and ran after them, out of all cities, and got to the desert place before them.

34 Then Jesus went out and saw a great multitude and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep which had no shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

Mark 6:53-56

53 And they came over and went into the land of Gennesaret, and arrived.

54 So when they had come out of the ship, immediately everyone knew it,

55 and ran around throughout all that region, carrying all who were sick to Him in couches, wherever they heard that He was.

56 And wherever He entered into towns or cities or villages, they laid their sick in the streets and asked Him if they might at least touch the edge of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made whole.
