Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
20 I have found David my servant: with mine holy oil have I anointed him.
21 Therefore mine hand shall be established with him, and mine arm shall strengthen him.
22 The enemy shall not oppress him, neither shall the wicked hurt him.
23 But I will [a]destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 My truth also and my [b]mercy shall be with him, and in my Name shall his [c]horn be exalted.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the [d]floods.
26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my [e]Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my Covenant shall stand fast with him.
29 His seed also will I make to endure [f]forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 But if his children forsake my Law, and walk not in my judgments:
31 (A)If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments:
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.
33 [g]Yet my loving kindness will I not take from him, neither will I falsify my truth.
34 My Covenant will I not break, nor [h]alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 I have sworn once by mine holiness, [i]that I will not fail David, saying,
36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne shall be as the sun before me.
37 He shall be established for evermore as the moon, and as a faithful [j]witness in the heaven. Selah.
15 1 David prepareth an house for the Ark. 4 The number and order of the Levites. 16 The singers are chosen out among them. 25 They bring again the Ark with joy. 29 David dancing before it is despised of his wife Michal.
1 And David made him houses in the [a]city of David, and prepared a place for the Ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 Then David said, (A)None ought to carry the Ark of God, but the Levites: for the Lord hath chosen them to bear the Ark of the Lord, and to minister unto him forever.
4 And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the Ark of the Lord, and to [a]rehearse and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel:
5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, even Jeiel with instruments, viols, and harps, and Asaph to make a sound with cymbals,
6 And Benaiah and Jahaziel Priests, with trumpets continually before the Ark of the covenant of God.
7 Then at that time David did [b]appoint at the beginning to give thanks to the Lord by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8 (A)Praise the Lord and call upon his Name: declare his [c]works among the people.
9 Sing unto him, sing praise unto him, and talk of all his [d]wonderful works.
10 Rejoice in his holy Name: let the hearts of them that seek the Lord, rejoice.
11 Seek the Lord and his strength: seek his face continually.
12 Remember his marvelous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the [e]judgments of his mouth,
13 O seed of Israel his servant, O the children of Jacob his [f]chosen.
35 ¶ (A)[a]And it came to pass, that as he was come near unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside, begging.
36 And when he heard the people pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 And they said unto him, that Jesus of Nazareth passed by.
38 Then he cried, saying, Jesus the Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 [b]And they which went before, rebuked him that he should hold his peace, but he cried much more, O Son of David have mercy on me.
40 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be brought unto him. And when he was come near, he asked him,
41 Saying, What wilt thou that I do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 Then immediately he received his sight, and followed him, praising God: and all the people, when they saw this, gave praise to God.
