²⁴ They have seen thy ways, O God, even the ways of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

²⁵ The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; in between them were the virgins playing with timbrels.

²⁶ Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, ye of the lineage of Israel.

²⁷ There was little Benjamin as their ruler, the princes of Judah in their congregation, the princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.

²⁸ Thy God has commanded thy strength; confirm, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

²⁹ From thy temple in Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

³⁰ Reprehend the company of spearmen, the multitude of the strong, with the lords of the peoples, trampling them underfoot with their pieces of silver; Destroy thou the peoples that delight in war.

³¹ Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

³² ¶ Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord, Selah:

³³ To him that rides upon the heavens of the heavens which were of old; behold, he shall send forth his voice, his mighty voice.

³⁴ Ascribe ye strength unto God; his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

³⁵ O God, thou art terrible out of thy sanctuaries; the God of Israel is he that gives strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

⁶ ¶ And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it.

⁷ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his effrontery, and there he died by the ark of God.

⁸ And David was grieved because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah, and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

⁹ And David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

¹⁰ So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom, the Gittite.

¹¹ And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.

¹² ¶ And it was told King David, saying, The LORD has blessed the house of Obededom and all that pertains unto him because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

²⁷ ¶ And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews, who were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people and laid hands on him,

²⁸ crying out, Men of Israel, help; this is the man that teaches everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place and further brought Greeks also into the temple and has polluted this holy place.

²⁹ (For before this they had seen Trophimus, an Ephesian, with him in the city, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

³⁰ So that all the city was moved, and the people ran together; and they took Paul and drew him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.

³¹ And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the tribunal of the company that all Jerusalem was in an uproar

³² who immediately took soldiers and centurions and ran down unto them; and when they saw the tribunal and the soldiers, they left off beating Paul.

³³ Then the tribunal came near and took him and commanded him to be bound with two chains and demanded to know who he was and what he had done.

³⁴ And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude; and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the fortress.

³⁵ And when he came upon the stairs, so it was that he was borne of the soldiers because of the violence of the people.

³⁶ For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.

³⁷ And as Paul was to be led into the fortress, he said unto the tribunal, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?

³⁸ Art not thou that Egyptian, who before these days made an uproar and led four thousand men out into the wilderness that were murderers?

³⁹ But Paul said, I am certainly a Jew, a citizen of Tarsus, a city known in Cilicia; and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
