Psalm 119:113-128

SAMECH

113 I hate doublemindedness. But Your Law do I love.

114 You are my refuge and shield, and I trust in Your Word.

115 Away from me, you wicked, for I will keep the Commandments of my God.

116 Establish me according to Your Promise, that I may live. And do not disappoint my hope.

117 Hold me up, and I shall be safe; and I will delight continually in Your Statutes.

118 You have rejected all those who depart from Your Statutes, for their deceit is useless.

119 You have taken away all the wicked of the Earth like dross, therefore I love Your Testimonies.

120 My flesh trembles for the fear of You, and I am afraid of Your Judgments.

AIN

121 I have executed judgment and justice, leave me not to my oppressors.

122 Answer for Your servant in that which is good, and do not let the proud oppress me.

123 My eyes have failed, longing for Your salvation and for Your just Promise.

124 Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy and teach me Your Statutes.

125 I am Your servant. Grant me, therefore, understanding, that I may know Your Testimonies.

126 It is time for You, LORD, to work. For they have destroyed Your Law.

127 Therefore I love Your Commandments above gold—yea, above most fine gold.

128 Therefore I esteem all Your Precepts most just and hate all false ways.

1 Samuel 19:1-7

19 Then Saul spoke to Jonathan, his son, and to all his servants, so that they would kill David. But Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted greatly in David.

And Jonathan told David, saying, “Saul, my father, intends to kill you. Now, therefore, please be on your guard until morning and stay in a secret place and hide yourself.

“And I will go out and stand by my father in the field where you are and will commune with my father about you. And I will see what he says and will tell you.”

And Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul, his father, and said to him, “Do not let the king sin against his servant, against David. For he has not sinned against you, but his works have been very good to you.

“For he put his life in danger and killed the Philistine. And the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it, and you rejoiced. Why, then, will you sin against innocent blood and kill David without a reason?”

Then Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan. And Saul swore, “As the LORD lives, he shall not die.”

So Jonathan called David. And Jonathan told him all those words. And Jonathan brought David to Saul. And he was in his presence, as in times past.

Acts 27:39-44

39 And when it was day, they did not recognize the country. But they spied a certain creek with a bank, into which they intended (if possible) to thrust in the ship.

40 So when they had taken up the anchors, they committed to the sea, and released the rudder ropes, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and drew to the shore.

41 And having fallen into a place where two seas met, they thrust in the ship. And the bow stuck fast, and could not be moved. But the stern was broken with the violence of the waves.

42 Then the soldiers planned to kill the prisoners, so that none of them could swim away and escape.

43 But the Centurion (wanting to save Paul) stopped them from carrying out this plan, and commanded that those who could swim should cast themselves into the sea first, and get to land

44 (as well as the others - some on boards, and some on certain pieces of the ship). And so it happened that they all were brought safely to land.
