Psalm 115

115 Not to us, O LORD, not to us; but to Your Name give the glory, for Your loving mercy and for Your truth’s sake.

Why shall the heathen say, “Where is their God, now?”

But our God is in Heaven. He does whatever He will.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have a mouth and do not speak. They have eyes and do not see.

They have ears and do not hear. They have noses and do not smell.

They have hands and do not touch. They have feet and do not walk; nor do they make a sound with their throat.

Those who make them are like them. So are all who trust in them.

O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.

10 O House of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.

11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD. He is their helper and their shield.

12 The LORD has been mindful of us. He will bless. He will bless the House of Israel. He will bless the House of Aaron.

13 He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great.

14 The LORD will increase toward you, toward you and toward your children.

15 You are blessed by the LORD, Who made Heaven and Earth.

16 The heavens, even the heavens are the LORD’s; but He has given the Earth to the sons of men.

17 The dead do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down into the silence.

18 But we will praise the LORD from henceforth and forever. Praise the LORD!

Exodus 28:29-38

29 “So, Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgment, upon his heart, when he goes into the Holy Place, as a memorial before the LORD continually.

30 “Also, you shall put the Urim and the Thummim on the breastplate of judgment which shall be upon Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the LORD. And Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.

31 “And you shall make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue silk.

32 “And the hole for his head shall be in the middle of it, having an edge of woven work all around the collar of it. It shall be as the collar of a coat of mail, so that it does not tear.

33 “And below, upon its hem, you shall make pomegranates of blue silk, and purple, and scarlet all around its hem, and bells of gold between them, all around

34 (a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around, upon the hem of the robe).

35 It shall be upon Aaron when he ministers. And his sound shall be heard when he goes into the Holy Place before the LORD and when he comes out, so he shall not die.

36 “Also, you shall make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it (as signets are engraved) HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

37 And you shall put it on a blue silk lace; and it shall be upon the turban. It shall be upon the front of the turban.

38 “So shall it be upon Aaron’s forehead, so that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the offerings which the children of Israel shall offer in all their holy offerings. And it shall always be upon his forehead, to make them acceptable before the LORD.

Philippians 1:3-11

I thank my God with every remembrance of you,

(always, in all my prayers for all you, praying with joy),

because of the fellowship which you have in the Gospel, from the first day until now.

And I am persuaded of this same thing: that He who has begun this good work in you will perfect it until the Day of Jesus Christ;

just as it is right for me to think this way of you all, because I have you in my heart, since both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the Gospel you all were fellow partakers of grace with me.

For God is my witness how I long after you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.

And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

10 so that you may test those things which are better; that you may be pure and without offense until the Day of Christ,

11 filled with the fruit of righteousness which is by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
