Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
111 I will praise the LORD with my whole heart in the assembly and the congregation of the Just.
2 The works of the LORD are great and are sought out by all those who love them.
3 His work is beautiful and glorious; and His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has made His wonderful works to be held in remembrance. The LORD is merciful and full of compassion.
5 He has given a portion to those who fear Him. He will be ever-mindful of His Covenant.
6 He has shown the power of His works to His people, in giving to them the heritage of the heathen.
7 The works of His hands are truth and judgment. All His statutes are true.
8 They are established forever and ever and are done in truth and equity.
9 He sent redemption to His people. He has commanded His Covenant forever. Holy and fearful is His Name.
10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. All those who observe them have good understanding. His praise endures forever. Praise the LORD
13 “If there arises among you a prophet (or a dreamer of dreams) and he gives you a sign or wonder —
2 “and the sign or the wonder which he has told you comes to be — saying, ‘Let us go after other gods which you have not known. And let us serve them’,
3 “you shall not listen to the words of the prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God tests you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 “You shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear Him, and shall keep His Commandments, and obey His Voice. And you shall serve Him and cling to Him.
5 “But that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, he shall be killed, because he has spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God (Who brought you out of the land of Egypt and delivered you out of the house of bondage) to thrust you out of the way in which the LORD your God Commanded you to walk. So shall you take the evil away forth from the midst of you.
28 And when He had come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two possessed with demons met Him there, who came very fiercely out of the graves, so that no one could go near there.
29 And behold, they cried out, saying, “Jesus, the Son of God! What have we to do with You!? Have you come here to torment us before the time!?”
30 Now, there was a great herd of swine, feeding far away from them.
31 And the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, let us to go into the herd of swine!”
32 And He said to them, “Go!” So, they went out and departed into the herd of swine. And behold, the whole herd of swine ran headlong into the sea and died in the water.
33 Then the herdsmen fled. And when they had come into the city, they told all things, and what had become of those who were possessed with the demons.
34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from that region.
9 Then He entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into His own city.
