Jonah 3:1-5

Nineveh Repents

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to (A)Nineveh the great city and (B)proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you.” So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was [a]an (C)exceedingly great city, a three days’ walk. Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he (D)cried out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”

Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a (E)fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.

Jonah 3:10

10 When God saw their deeds, that they (A)turned from their wicked way, then (B)God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would [a]bring upon them. And He did not do it.

Psalm 62:5-12

My soul, (A)wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
He only is (B)my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
On God my (C)salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my (D)refuge is in God.
(E)Trust in Him at all times, O people;
(F)Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Men of (G)low degree are only (H)vanity and men of rank are a (I)lie;
In the (J)balances they go up;
They are together lighter than breath.
10 (K)Do not trust in oppression
And do not [a]vainly hope in (L)robbery;
If riches increase, (M)do not set your heart upon them.

11 [b]Once God has (N)spoken;
[c]Twice I have heard this:
That (O)power belongs to God;
12 And lovingkindness (P)is Yours, O Lord,
For You (Q)recompense a man according to his work.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

29 But this I say, brethren, (A)the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none; 30 and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess; 31 and those who use the world, as though they did not (B)make full use of it; for (C)the form of this world is passing away.

Mark 1:14-20

Jesus Preaches in Galilee

14 (A)Now after John had been [a]taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, [b](B)preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, (C)The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God [c]is at hand; (D)repent and [d]believe in the gospel.”

16 (E)As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 Going on a little farther, He saw [e]James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. 20 Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went away [f]to follow Him.
