Isaiah 61:10-62:3

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD. My soul shall be joyful in my God. For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation and covered me with the robe of righteousness. He has decked me like a bridegroom, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as the Earth brings forth her bud, and as the garden causes to grow that which is sown in it, so the LORD God will cause righteousness to grow, and praise, before all the heathen.

62 “For Zion’s sake, I will not be silent. And for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not rest, until their righteousness breaks forth as the light, their salvation as a burning lamp.”

And the Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. And you shall be called by a new name which the Mouth of the LORD shall name.

You shall also be a crown of glory in the Hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the Hand of your God.

Psalm 148

148 Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise Him in the high places!

Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all His army!

Praise Him, Sun and Moon! Praise Him, all bright stars!

Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for He commanded, and they were created.

And He has established them forever and ever. He has made an ordinance which shall not pass.

Praise the LORD from the Earth, you dragons and all depths:

fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind — which execute His Word —

mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars,10 beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered birds,

11 kings of the Earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world,

12 young men and maidens, also old men and children.

13 Let them praise the Name of the LORD; for only His Name is to be exalted. His praise is above the Earth and the heavens.

14 For He has exalted the horn of His people — a praise for all His saints, for the children of Israel — a people that is near to Him. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD.

Galatians 4:4-7

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman and made under the Law;

so that He might redeem those who were under the Law (that we might receive adoption as sons).

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, who cries, “Abba, Father!”

Therefore, you are a servant no more, but a son. Now, if you are a son, you are also the heir of God, through Christ.

Luke 2:22-40

22 And when the days of her purification were completed (according to the Law of Moses), they brought Him to Jerusalem, to present Him to the Lord,

23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male shall be called holy to the Lord.”)

24 and to give an oblation - as is commanded in the Law of the Lord - a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.

25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was just and feared God and waited for the consolation of Israel. And the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26 And it was declared to him from God by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death before he had seen the Anointed of the Lord.

27 And he was led by the Spirit into the Temple. And when the parents brought in the Baby Jesus, to do for Him after the custom of the Law,

28 he then took Him in his arms and praised God, and said,

29 “Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word!

30 “For my eyes have seen Your Salvation

31 “(which You have prepared before the face of all people);

32 “a Light to be revealed to the Gentiles and the Glory of Your people, Israel!”

33 And Joseph and his mother marveled at those things which were spoken about Him.

34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, His mother, “Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rising again of many in Israel, and for a sign which shall be spoken against,

35 Yes, and a sword shall pierce through your soul, so that the thoughts of many hearts may be opened.”

36 And there was a prophetess - one Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher - who was of a great age (after she had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity).

37 And she had been widowed for about 84 years and had never left the Temple; but had served God with fasting and prayers night and day.

38 Then, coming upon them at that same instant, she likewise confessed the Lord, and spoke of Him to all who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

39 And when they had performed all things according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.

40 And the Child grew, and became strong in Spirit, and was filled with wisdom. And the grace of God was with Him.
