Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Vav.
41 May Your (A)lovingkindnesses also come to me, O Lord,
Your salvation (B)according to Your [a]word;
42 So I will have an (C)answer for him who (D)reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word.
43 And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I [b](E)wait for Your ordinances.
44 So I will (F)keep Your law continually,
Forever and ever.
45 And I will (G)walk [c]at liberty,
For I (H)seek Your precepts.
46 I will also speak of Your testimonies (I)before kings
And shall not be ashamed.
47 I shall [d](J)delight in Your commandments,
Which I (K)love.
48 And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments,
Which I (L)love;
And I will (M)meditate on Your statutes.
8 If, however, you (A)are fulfilling the [a]royal law according to the Scripture, “(B)You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. 9 But if you (C)show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the [b]law as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole [c]law and yet (D)stumbles in one point, he has become (E)guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “(F)Do not commit adultery,” also said, “(G)Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the [d]law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by (H)the law of liberty. 13 For (I)judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy [e]triumphs over judgment.
