57 The Lord is my (A)portion;
I have [a]promised to (B)keep Your words.
58 I (C)sought Your favor (D)with all my heart;
(E)Be gracious to me (F)according to Your [b]word.
59 I (G)considered my ways
And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60 I hurried and did not delay
To keep Your commandments.
61 The (H)snares of the wicked have surrounded me,
But I have (I)not forgotten Your Law.
62 At (J)midnight I will rise to give thanks to You
Because of Your (K)righteous judgments.
63 I am a (L)companion to all those who [c]fear You,
And to those who keep Your precepts.
64 (M)The earth is full of Your goodness, Lord;
(N)Teach me Your statutes.
27 (A)Do not withhold good from [a]those to whom it is due,
When it is in your power to do it.
28 (B)Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back,
And tomorrow I will give it to you,”
When you have it with you.
29 (C)Do not devise harm against your neighbor,
While he lives securely beside you.
30 (D)Do not contend with a person for no reason,
If he has done you no harm.
31 (E)Do not envy a violent person,
And do not choose any of his ways.
32 For the (F)devious are an abomination to the Lord;
But [b]He is (G)intimate with the upright.
33 The (H)curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked,
But He (I)blesses the home of the righteous.
34 Though (J)He scoffs at the scoffers,
Yet (K)He gives grace to the needy.
35 (L)The wise will inherit honor,
But fools [c]increase dishonor.
The Rich Young Ruler
18 (A)A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 19 But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me [a]good? No one is [b]good except God alone. 20 You know the commandments, ‘(B)Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Honor your father and mother.’” 21 And he said, “All these things I have kept since my youth.” 22 Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; (C)sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have (D)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 23 But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely wealthy. 24 And Jesus looked at him and said, “(E)How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For (F)it is easier for a camel to [c]go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!” 26 Those who heard Him said, “And so who can be saved?” 27 But He said, “(G)The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”
28 Peter said, “Behold, (H)we have left [d]our own homes and followed You.” 29 And He said to them, “Truly I say to you, (I)there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who will not receive many times as much at this time, and in (J)the age to come, eternal life.”
