Psalm 119:57-64

CHETH

57 O Lord, that art my [a]portion, I have determined to keep thy words.

58 I made my supplication in thy presence with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy promise.

59 I have considered my [b]ways, and turned my feet into thy testimonies.

60 I made haste and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

61 The bands of the wicked have [c]robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy Law.

62 At midnight will I rise to give thanks unto thee, because of thy righteous judgments.

63 I am [d]companion of all them that fear thee, and keep thy precepts.

64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: [e]teach me thy statutes.

Proverbs 3:27-35

27 ¶ Withhold not the good from [a]the owners thereof, though there be power in [thine] hand to do it.

28 Say not unto thy neighbor, Go and come again, and tomorrow will I give thee, if thou now have it.

29 ¶ Intend none hurt against thy neighbor, seeing he doth dwell [b]without fear by thee.

30 ¶ Strive not with a man causeless, when he hath done thee no harm.

31 ¶ Be not [c]envious for the wicked man, neither choose any of his ways,

32 For the froward is abomination unto the Lord: but his [d]secret is with the righteous.

33 The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.

34 With the scornful [e]he scorneth, but he giveth grace unto the humble.

35 The wise shall inherit glory: but fools dishonor, though they be exalted.

Luke 18:18-30

18 (A)Then a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what ought I do, to inherit eternal life?

19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God.

20 Thou knowest the commandments, (B)Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Honor thy father and thy mother.

21 [a]And he said, All these have I kept from my youth.

22 Now when Jesus heard that, he said unto him, yet lackest thou one thing, Sell all that ever thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come follow me.

23 But when he heard those things, he was very heavy: for he was marvelous rich.

24 [b]And when Jesus saw him very sorrowful, he said, With what difficulty shall they that have riches, enter into the kingdom of God!

25 Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26 Then said they that heard it, And who then shall be saved?

27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.

28 (C)Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29 [c]And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the kingdom of God’s sake,

30 Which shall not receive much more in this world, and in the world to come life everlasting.
