Psalm 119:33-40

HE

33 Teach [a]me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keep it unto the end.

34 Give me understanding and I will keep thy Law, yea, I will keep it with my whole [b]heart.

35 Direct me in the path of thy commandments: for therein is my delight.

36 Incline mine heart unto thy testimonies: and not to [c]covetousness.

37 Turn away mine [d]eyes from regarding vanity, and quicken me in thy way.

38 Stablish thy promise to thy servant, because he feareth thee.

39 Take away [e]my rebuke that I fear: for thy judgments are good.

40 Behold, I desire thy commandments: [f]quicken me in thy righteousness.

Leviticus 24:10-23

10 ¶ And there went [a]out among the children of Israel the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian: and this son of the Israelitish woman, and a man of Israel strove together in the host.

11 So the Israelitish woman’s son [b]blasphemed the Name of the Lord, and cursed, and they brought him unto Moses (his mother’s name also was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan)

12 And they (A)put him in ward, till he told them the mind of the Lord.

13 Then the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

14 Bring the blasphemer without the host, and let all that heard him, (B)put their hands upon his head, and let all the Congregation stone him.

15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God, shall [c]bear his sin.

16 And he that blasphemeth the Name of the Lord, shall be put to death: all the Congregation shall stone him to death: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land: when he blasphemeth the Name of the Lord, let him be slain.

17 (C)He also that [d]killeth any man, he shall be put to death.

18 And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it, [e]beast for beast.

19 Also if a man cause any blemish in his neighbor: as he hath done, so shall it be done to him:

20 (D)Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: such a blemish as he hath made in any, such shall be repaid to him.

21 And he that killeth a beast, shall restore it: but he that killeth a man, shall be slain.

22 Ye shall have one (E)law: it shall be as well for the stranger as for one born in the country, for I am the Lord your God.

23 ¶ Then [f]Moses told the children of Israel, and they brought the blasphemer out of the host, and stoned him with stones: so the children of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Matthew 7:1-12

1 We may not give judgment of our neighbors, 6 Nor cast that which is holy unto dogs. 13 The broad and strait way. 15 False prophets. 18 The tree and fruit. 24 The house built on a rock, 26 and on the sand.

Judge [a]not, that ye be not judged.

For with what (A)judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with what (B)measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you again.

And why seest thou the mote, that is in thy brother’s eye, and perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

(C)Or how sayest thou to thy brother, Suffer me to cast out the mote out of thine eye, and behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Hypocrite, first cast out that beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

[b]Give ye not that which is holy to dogs, neither cast ye your [c]pearls before swine, lest they tread them under their feet, and turning again, all to rent you.

(D)[d]Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

For whosoever asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

For what man is there among you, which if his son ask him bread, would give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, which are evil, can give to your children good gifts, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?

12 (E)[e]Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do to you: even so do ye to them: for this is the [f]Law and the Prophets.
