146 Praise ye the Lord, because psalm is good: to our God be joyful and comely praise.

² The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: he will gather together the dispersed of Israel.

³ Who healeth the broken of heart, and bindeth up their bruises.

⁴ Who telleth the number of the stars: and calleth them all by their names.

⁵ Great is our Lord, and great is his power: and of his wisdom there is no number.

⁶ The Lord lifteth up the meek, and bringeth the wicked down even to the ground.

⁷ Sing ye to the Lord with praise: sing to our God upon the harp.

⁸ Who covereth the heaven with clouds, and prepareth rain for the earth. Who maketh grass to grow on the mountains, and herbs for the service of men.

⁹ Who giveth to beasts their food: and to the young ravens that call upon him.

¹⁰ He shall not delight in the strength of the horse: nor take pleasure in the legs of a man.

¹¹ The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him: and in them that hope in his mercy.

¹⁷ Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them:

¹⁸ When you are come into the land which I will give you,

¹⁹ And shall eat of the bread of that country, you shall separate firstfruits to the Lord,

²⁰ Of the things you eat. As you separate firstfruits of your barnfloors:

²¹ So also shall you give firstfruits of your dough to the Lord.

²² And if through ignorance you omit any of these things, which the Lord hath spoken to Moses,

²³ And by him hath commanded you, from the day that he began to command and thenceforward,

²⁴ And the multitude have forgotten to do it: they shall offer a calf out of the herd, a holocaust for a most sweet savour to the Lord, and the sacrifice and libations thereof, as the ceremonies require, and a buck goat for sin:

²⁵ And the priest shall pray for all the multitude of the children of Israel: and it shall be forgiven them, because they sinned ignorantly, offering notwithstanding a burnt offering to the Lord for themselves and for their sin and their ignorance:

²⁶ And it shall be forgiven all the people of the children of Israel: and the strangers that sojourn among them: because it is the fault of all the people through ignorance.

26 Then Agrippa said to Paul: Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretching forth his hand, began to make his answer.

² I think myself happy, O king Agrippa, that I am to answer for myself this day before thee, touching all the things whereof I am accused by the Jews.

³ Especially as thou knowest all, both customs and questions that are among the Jews: Wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

⁴ And my life indeed from my youth, which was from the beginning among my own nation in Jerusalem, all the Jews do know:

⁵ Having known me from the beginning (if they will give testimony) that according to the most sure sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

⁶ And now for the hope of the promise that was made by God to the fathers, do I stand subject to judgment:

⁷ Unto which, our twelve tribes, serving night and day, hope to come. For which hope, O king, I am accused by the Jews.

⁸ Why should it be thought a thing incredible, that God should raise the dead?

⁹ And I indeed did formerly think, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

¹⁰ Which also I did at Jerusalem, and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority of the chief priests: and when they were put to death, I brought the sentence.

¹¹ And oftentimes punishing them, in every synagogue, I compelled them to blaspheme: and being yet more mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.
