A Song of Praise to God Coming in Judgment(A)

96 Oh, (B)sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
Declare His glory among the [a]nations,
His wonders among all peoples.

For (C)the Lord is great and (D)greatly to be praised;
(E)He is to be feared above all gods.
For (F)all the gods of the peoples are idols,
(G)But the Lord made the heavens.
Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and (H)beauty are in His sanctuary.

(I)Give[b] to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
[c]Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
Oh, worship the Lord (J)in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.

10 Say among the [d]nations, (K)“The Lord reigns;
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be [e]moved;
(L)He shall judge the peoples righteously.”

11 (M)Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
(N)Let the sea roar, and [f]all its fullness;
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice
13     before the Lord.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
(O)He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth.

1 Kings 16:29-34

Ahab Reigns in Israel

29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years. 30 Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, (A)that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the (B)Sidonians; (C)and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. 32 Then he set up an altar for Baal in (D)the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 (E)And Ahab made a [a]wooden image. Ahab (F)did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him. 34 In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation [b]with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, (G)according to the word of the Lord, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.

2 Corinthians 11:1-6

Concern for Their Faithfulness

11 Oh, that you would bear with me in a little (A)folly—and indeed you do bear with me. For I am (B)jealous for you with godly jealousy. For (C)I have betrothed you to one husband, (D)that I may present you (E)as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest somehow, as (F)the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds (G)may be corrupted from the [a]simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a (H)different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!

Paul and False Apostles

For I consider that (I)I am not at all inferior to the most eminent apostles. Even though (J)I am untrained in speech, yet I am not (K)in knowledge. But (L)we have [b]been thoroughly manifested among you in all things.
