Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
1 ¶ O sing unto the LORD a new song; sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; show forth his saving health from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the Gentiles, his wonders among all peoples.
4 For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the peoples, give unto the LORD the glory and the strength.
8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; bring offerings, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; fear before him, all the earth.
10 ¶ Say among the Gentiles that the LORD reigns; he also has established the world, it shall not be moved; he shall judge the peoples righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar and the fullness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 before the LORD; for he has come, for he has come to judge the earth; he shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with his truth.
29 ¶ And in the year thirty-eight of Asa, king of Judah, Ahab, the son of Omri, began to reign over Israel. And Ahab the son of Omri, reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
30 And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him,
31 for it was as a light thing unto him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and he took to wife Jezebel, the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal and worshipped him.
32 And he raised up an altar to Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 Ahab also made groves, and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
34 In his time Hiel, the Bethelite, rebuilt Jericho. He laid the foundation thereof in Abiram, his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he had spoken by Joshua the son of Nun.
11 ¶ I wish ye could bear with me a little in my folly and indeed bear with me.
2 For I am jealous over you with the jealousy of God, for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to the Christ.
3 But I fear that as the serpent deceived Eve through his craftiness, so your senses should be corrupted in some way, and ye should fall from the simplicity that is in the Christ.
4 Therefore if anyone comes preaching another Jesus whom we have not preached or if ye receive another spirit from that which ye have received or another gospel from that which ye have accepted, ye bear well with it.
5 ¶ I reckon that I have not been inferior in any way to those grandiose apostles.
6 But though I am rude in speech, yet not in knowledge, but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things.
