マタイ 24:29-35
イエスが再びやって来る時
（マルコ13:24-27; ルカ21:25-28）
29 これらの苦難の日々のあと、
『太陽は暗くなり、
月は輝きを失う。
星々は天から落ち、
天空の権威は揺れ動く』
30 人の子の訪れをあらわす前兆が空に起きると、その恐れから全地の人が嘆く。すると、人の子が雲に乗り、神の栄光と権威をまとって来るのを目にするだろう！ 31 角笛を吹き鳴らし、地上のいたるところへ天使を送ると、彼らは神の選んだ人を集めてくる。
イチジクの木からの学び

32 イチジクの木から学べ！その枝が緑になり、柔らかくなると新しい葉を茂らせる。人はそれを見て夏が近づいていることを知る。 33 同じようにこれらの事が全て起こったら、ついにその時が来たと察するのだ！ 34 保証する！今この時代に生きている人たちの中には、これら全てを体験する者がいる！ 35 やがてこの世は、天も地もひっくるめて滅びる。だが俺のことばは永遠だ！
