Genesis 6:9-22

These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a (A)righteous man, [a](B)blameless in his generation. Noah (C)walked with God. 10 And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was (D)corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was (E)filled with violence. 12 And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for [b](F)humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth.

13 Then God said to Noah, “(G)The end of [c]humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of [d]people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of [e]gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and [f]cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark shall be [g]three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a [h]window for the ark, and finish it to a [i]cubit from [j]the top; and put the door of the ark on the side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 Now behold, (H)I Myself am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. 18 But I will establish (I)My covenant with you; and (J)you shall enter the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 (K)And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 (L)Of the birds according to their kind, and of the animals according to their kind, of every crawling thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 As for you, take for yourself some of every (M)food that is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and them.” 22 (N)So Noah did these things; according to everything that God had commanded him, so he did.

Genesis 7:24

24 (A)The water prevailed upon the earth for 150 days.

Genesis 8:14-19

14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. 15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every crawling thing that crawls on the earth, that they may [a](A)breed abundantly on the earth, and (B)be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every animal, every crawling thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out [b]by their families from the ark.

Psalm 46

God, the Refuge of His People.

For the music director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah, [a]set to Alamoth. A Song.

46 God is our (A)refuge and strength,
A [b]very (B)ready help (C)in [c]trouble.
Therefore we will (D)not fear, though (E)the earth shakes
And (F)the mountains slip into the heart of the [d]sea;
Though its (G)waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah

There is a (H)river whose streams make the (I)city of God happy,
The holy (J)dwelling places of the Most High.
God is (K)in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will (L)help her [e]when morning dawns.
The [f]nations (M)made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He [g](N)raised His voice, the earth (O)quaked.
The Lord of armies (P)is with us;
The God of Jacob is (Q)our stronghold. Selah

Come, (R)behold the works of the Lord,
[h]Who has inflicted (S)horrific events on the earth.
He (T)makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He (U)breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He (V)burns the chariots with fire.
10 [i]Stop striving and (W)know that I am God;
I will be (X)exalted among the [j]nations, I will be exalted on the earth.”
11 The Lord of armies is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

Romans 1:16-17

16 For I am not (A)ashamed of the gospel, for (B)it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the (C)Jew first and also to (D)the Greek. 17 For in it (E)the righteousness of God is revealed [a]from faith to faith; as it is written: “[b](F)But the righteous one will live by faith.”

Romans 3:22-28

22 but it is the (A)righteousness of God through (B)faith (C)in Jesus Christ for (D)all those [a]who believe; for (E)there is no distinction, 23 for all [b](F)have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift (G)by His grace through (H)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God displayed publicly as (I)a [c]propitiation [d](J)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, [e]because in God’s merciful (K)restraint He (L)let the sins previously committed go unpunished; 26 for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who [f]has faith in Jesus.

27 Where then is (M)boasting? It has been excluded. By (N)what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28 [g]For (O)we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works [h]of the Law.

Romans 3:29-31

29 Or (A)is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed (B)God (C)who will justify the [a]circumcised [b]by faith and the [c]uncircumcised through faith (D)is one.

31 Do we then nullify [d]the Law through faith? (E)Far from it! On the contrary, we (F)establish the Law.

Matthew 7:21-29

21 (A)Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 (B)Many will say to Me on (C)that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [a]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; (D)leave Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

The Two Foundations

24 “Therefore, (E)everyone who hears these words of Mine, and [b]acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell and the [c]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not [d]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell and the [e]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and its collapse was great.”

28 [f](F)When Jesus had finished these words, (G)the crowds were amazed at His teaching; 29 for He was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
