אגרת פולוס הראשונה אל-טימות 4:11-16

11 המשך לצוות וללמד דברים אלה. 12 אל תניח לאיש לזלזל בחשיבותך בגלל גילך הצעיר. שמש דוגמה ומופת למאמינים במעשיך, בדברך, באהבתך, באמונתך ובטוהר מחשבותיך. 13 עד שאגיע, הקדש את עצמך לקריאת כתבי-הקודש לפני הציבור, ולמד אותם את דבר ה'.

14 נצל את המתנה שהעניק לך ה' באמצעות נביאיו, כשזקני הקהילה סמכו את ידיהם על ראשך. 15 נצל מתנות אלה; הקדש להן מרץ וכל תשומת לבך, כדי שכולם יראו בבירור את התקדמותך והצלחתך. 16 שים לב לכל מה שאתה עושה וחושב. הישאר נאמן לאמת ולמה שישר, ואלוהים יברך אותך ואת שומעיך.
