Psalm 119:105-112

105 Your word is a lamp
that gives light
    wherever I walk.
106 Your laws are fair,
and I have given my word
    to respect them all.
107 I am in terrible pain!
Save me, Lord,
    as you have promised.
108 Accept my offerings of praise
    and teach me your laws.
109 I never forget your teachings,
although my life is always
    in danger.
110 Some merciless people
    are trying to trap me,
but I never turn my back
    on your teachings.
111 They will always be
my most prized possession
    and my source of joy.
112 I have made up my mind
to obey your laws forever,
    no matter what.

Isaiah 2:1-4

Peace That Lasts Forever

This is the message[a] I was given about Judah and Jerusalem:

In the future, the mountain
with the Lord's temple
will be the highest of all.
It will reach above the hills;
every nation will rush to it.
Many people will come and say,
    “Let's go to the mountain
of the Lord God of Jacob
    and worship in his temple.”

The Lord will teach us his Law
from Jerusalem,
    and we will obey him.
(A) He will settle arguments
    between nations.
They will pound their swords
and their spears
    into rakes and shovels;
they will never make war
    or attack one another.

John 12:44-50

Jesus Came To Save the World

44 In a loud voice Jesus said:

Everyone who has faith in me also has faith in the one who sent me. 45 And everyone who has seen me has seen the one who sent me. 46 I am the light that has come into the world. No one who has faith in me will stay in the dark.

47 I am not the one who will judge those who refuse to obey my teachings. I came to save the people of this world, not to be their judge. 48 But everyone who rejects me and my teachings will be judged on the last day[a] by what I have said. 49 I don't speak on my own. I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say. 50 I know that his commands will bring eternal life. This is why I tell you exactly what the Father has told me.
