Psalm 119:105-112

נ Nun

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet(A)
and a light on my path.
106 I have solemnly sworn(B)
to keep your righteous judgments.
107 I am severely afflicted;
Lord, give me life according to your word.(C)
108 Lord, please accept my freewill offerings of praise,(D)
and teach me your judgments.(E)
109 My life is constantly in danger,[a]
yet I do not forget your instruction.(F)
110 The wicked have set a trap for me,(G)
but I have not wandered from your precepts.(H)
111 I have your decrees as a heritage forever;
indeed, they are the joy of my heart.(I)
112 I am resolved to obey your statutes
to the very end.[b](J)

Exodus 3:1-6

Moses and the Burning Bush

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro,[a] the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb,[b] the mountain of God.(A) Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush.(B) As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed. So Moses thought, “I must go over and look at this remarkable sight. Why isn’t the bush burning up?”

When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from the bush, “Moses, Moses!”

“Here I am,” he answered.

“Do not come closer,” he said. “Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”(C) Then he continued, “I am the God of your father,[c] the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”(D) Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Romans 2:12-16

12 For all who sin without the law(A) will also perish without the law, and all who sin under[a] the law will be judged by the law. 13 For the hearers of the law(B) are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.[b] 14 So, when Gentiles, who do not by nature have the law,(C) do[c] what the law demands, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law[d] is written on their hearts.(D) Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts either accuse or even excuse them[e] 16 on the day when God judges(E) what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.(F)
