Psalm 13

Prayer for Help in Trouble.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

13 How long, Lord? Will You (A)forget me forever?
How long (B)will You hide Your face from me?
How long am I to (C)feel anxious in my soul,
With (D)grief in my heart all the day?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

(E)Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
(F)Enlighten my eyes, or I will (G)sleep the sleep of death,
And my enemy will (H)say, “I have overcome him,”
And (I)my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken.

But I have (J)trusted in Your faithfulness;
My heart shall (K)rejoice in Your salvation.
I will (L)sing to the Lord,
Because He has (M)looked after me.

2 Chronicles 20:5-12

Jehoshaphat’s Prayer

Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord in front of the new courtyard; and he said, “Lord, God of our fathers, (A)are You not God in the heavens? And (B)are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You. Did You not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land from Your people Israel, and (C)give it to the descendants of (D)Your friend Abraham forever? They have lived in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, (E)If disaster comes upon us, the sword, or judgment, or plague, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for (F)Your name is in this house), and cry out to You in our distress, and You will hear and save us.’ 10 Now behold, (G)the sons of Ammon, Moab, and [a]Mount Seir, (H)whom You did not allow Israel to invade when they came out of the land of Egypt (for they turned aside from them and did not destroy them), 11 see how they are rewarding us by (I)coming to drive us out from Your possession which You have given us as an inheritance. 12 Our God, (J)will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but (K)our eyes are on You.”

Galatians 5:7-12

You were (A)running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion did not come from (B)Him who calls you. (C)A little [a]leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. 10 (D)I have confidence [b]in you in the Lord, that you (E)will adopt no other view; but the one who is (F)disturbing you will bear the punishment, whoever he is. 11 But as for me, brothers and sisters, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still (G)persecuted? Then (H)the stumbling block of the cross has been eliminated. 12 I wish that (I)those who are troubling you would even [c](J)emasculate themselves.
