Psalm 122

Prayer for the peace of Jerusalem.

A Song of Ascents; of David.

122 I was glad when they said unto me,
Let us go unto the house of Jehovah.
Our feet [a]are standing
Within thy gates, O Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, that art builded
As a city that is compact together;
Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of [b]Jehovah,
For [c]an ordinance for Israel,
To give thanks unto the name of Jehovah.
For there [d]are set thrones for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.
[e]Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
[f]They shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls,
And prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sakes,
I will now [g]say, Peace be within thee.
For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God
I will seek thy good.

Genesis 6:1-10

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose. And Jehovah said, My Spirit shall not [a]strive with man for ever, [b]for that he also is flesh: [c]yet shall his days be a hundred and twenty years. The [d]Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented Jehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And Jehovah said, I will [e]destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man, and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah.

These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, and [f]perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Hebrews 11:1-7

11 Now faith is [a]assurance of things hoped for, a [b]conviction of things not seen. For therein the elders had witness borne to them. By faith we understand that the [c]worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, [d]God bearing witness [e]in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: [f]for he hath had witness borne to him that before his translation he had been well-pleasing unto God: and without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
