A Song of Praise to the Lord for His Salvation and Judgment
A Psalm.
98 Oh, (A)sing to the Lord a new song!
For He has (B)done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 (C)The Lord has made known His salvation;
(D)His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the [a]nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(E)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
44 So Moses came with [a]Joshua the son of Nun and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people. 45 Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 and he said to them: (A)“Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your (B)children to be careful to observe—all the words of this law. 47 For it is not a [b]futile thing for you, because it is your (C)life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.”
42 But Jesus called them to Himself and said to them, (A)“You know that those who are considered rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 (B)Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. 44 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. 45 For even (C)the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and (D)to give His life a ransom for many.”
