1 Samuel 2:18-20

18 ¶ Now Samuel being a young child ministered before the Lord, girded with a linen (A)Ephod.

19 And his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband, to offer the yearly sacrifice.

20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord give thee seed of this woman, for [a]the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed unto their place.

1 Samuel 2:26

26 ¶ (Now the child Samuel profited, and grew, and was in favor both with the Lord and also with men.)

Psalm 148

148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.

Praise ye him, all ye [a]his Angels: praise him, all his army.

Praise ye him, [b]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.

Praise ye him [c]heavens of heavens, and [d]waters, that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.

Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [e]dragons and all depths:

[f]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.

Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:

11 [g]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:

12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:

13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.

14 For he hath exalted the [h]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [i]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

Colossians 3:12-17

12 Now therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, [a]put on the [b]bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering:

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel to another: even as Christ forgave, even so do ye.

14 And above all these things put on love, which is the [c]bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God [d]rule in your hearts, to the which ye are called in [e]one body, and be ye thankful:

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you plenteously in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing your own selves, in [f]Psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Lord,

17 (A)And whatsoever ye shall do, in word or deed, do all in the [g]Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God even the Father by him.

Luke 2:41-52

41 [a]Now his parents went to Jerusalem, every year, (A)at the feast of the Passover.

42 And when he was twelve years old, and they were come up to Jerusalem, after the custom of the feast,

43 And had finished the days thereof, as they returned, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem, and Joseph knew not, nor his mother,

44 But they supposing that he had been in the company, went a day’s journey, and sought him among their kinsfolk, and acquaintances.

45 And when they found him not, they turned back to Jerusalem, and sought him.

46 And it came to pass three days after, that they found him in the Temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions:

47 And all that heard him, were astonied at his understanding and answers.

48 [b]So when they saw him, they were amazed, and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee with very heavy hearts.

49 Then said he unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must go about my Father’s business?

50 But they understood not the word that he spake to them.

51 [c]Then he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them: and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and men.
