2 And thou Bethlehem Ephrathah art [a]little to be among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me, that shall be the ruler in Israel: whose [b]goings forth have been from the beginning and from everlasting.
3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that [c]she which shall bear, shall travail: then the remnant of their brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
4 And he shall [d]stand, and feed in the strength of the Lord, and in the majesty of the Name of the Lord his God, and they shall dwell still: for now shall he be magnified unto the ends of the world.
5 And he [e]shall be our peace when Assyria shall come into our land: when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
46 [a]Then Mary said, My soul magnifieth the Lord,
47 And my spirit rejoiceth in God my Savior.
48 For he hath [b]looked on the [c]poor degree of his servant: for behold, from henceforth shall all ages call me blessed,
49 Because he that is mighty hath done for me great things, and holy is his Name.
50 And his mercy is from generation to generation on them [d]that fear him.
51 (A)He that showed strength with his [e]arm: (B)he hath [f]scattered the proud in the [g]imagination of their hearts.
52 (C)He hath [h]put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of [i]low degree.

1 Hear, [a]O thou shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like sheep: show thy brightness, thou that sittest between the [b]Cherubims.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come to help us.
3 [c]Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine that we may be saved.
4 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be [d]angry against the prayer of thy people?
5 Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink with great measure.
6 Thou hast made us a [e]strife unto our neighbors, and our enemies laugh at us among themselves.
7 [f]Turn us again, O God of hosts: cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
5 [a]Wherefore when he [b]cometh into the world, he saith, (A)Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not: but a [c]body hast thou ordained me.
6 In burnt offerings, and sin offerings thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then I said, Lo, I come (in the beginning of the book it is written of me) that I should do thy will, O God.
8 Above, when he said, Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings, and sin offerings, thou wouldest not have, neither hadst pleasure therein (which are offered by the Law.)
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God, he taketh away the [d]first, that he may stablish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified, even by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once made.
39 ¶ [a]And Mary arose in those days, and went into the [b]hill country with haste to a [c]city of Judah,
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elizabeth.
41 And it came to pass, as Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe [d]sprang in her belly, and Elizabeth was filled with the holy Ghost.
42 And she cried with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, because [e]the fruit of thy womb is blessed.
43 And whence cometh this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe sprang in my belly for joy.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for those things shall be performed, which were told her from the Lord.
