Psalm 126

126 1 This Psalm was made after the return of the people from Babylon, and showeth that the means of their deliverance was wonderful after the seventy years of captivity forspoken by Jeremiah, in Jer. 25:12 and 29:10.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of David.

When the Lord brought again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that [a]dream.

Then was our mouth [b]filled with laughter, and our tongue with joy: then said they among the [c]heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we rejoice.

O Lord, bring again our captivity, as the [d]rivers in the South.

They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy.

They went weeping, and carried [e]precious seed: but they shall return with joy, and bring their sheaves.

Isaiah 19:18-25

18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt [a]speak the language of Canaan, and shall [b]swear by the Lord of hosts: one shall be called the city of [c]destruction.

19 In that day shall the altar of the Lord be in the midst of the land of Egypt, and [d]a pillar by the border thereof unto the Lord.

20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord, because of the oppressors, and he shall send them [e]a Savior, and a great man, and shall deliver them.

21 And the Lord shall be known of the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and do [f]sacrifice and oblation, and shall vow vows unto the Lord, and perform them.

22 So the Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heal it: for he shall return unto the Lord, and he shall be entreated of them and shall heal them.

23 In that day shall there be a path from [g]Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria shall come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria: so the Egyptians shall worship with Assyria.

24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and Assyria: even a blessing in the midst of the land.

25 For the Lord of hosts shall bless it, saying, Blessed be my people Egypt and Assyria, the work of mine hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

2 Peter 1:2-15

Grace and peace be multiplied to you, [a]through the acknowledging of God, and of Jesus Christ our Lord,

[b]According as his [c]divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto [d]life and godliness, through the [e]acknowledging of him that hath called us unto glory and virtue.

[f]Whereby most great and precious promises are given unto us, that by them ye should be partakers of the [g]divine nature, in that ye flee the corruption, which is in the [h]world through [i]lust.

[j]Therefore give even all diligence thereunto: [k]join moreover virtue with your faith: and with virtue, knowledge:

[l]And with knowledge, temperance: and with temperance, patience: and with patience, godliness:

And with godliness, brotherly kindness: and with brotherly kindness, love.

[m]For if these things be among you, and abound, they will make you that ye neither shall be idle, nor unfruitful in the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ:

For he that hath not these things, is blind, and [n]cannot see far off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 [o]Wherefore, brethren, give rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.

11 For by this means an entering shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12 [p]Wherefore, I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though that ye have knowledge, and be established in the present truth.

13 For I think it meet as long as I am in this [q]tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance,

14 Seeing I know that the time is at hand that I must lay down this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath (A)showed me.

15 (B)I will endeavor therefore always, that ye also may be able to have remembrance of these things after my departing.
