Psalm 25:1-10

Prayer for Protection, Guidance, and Pardon.

A Psalm of David.

25 To You, Lord, I (A)lift up my soul.
My God, in You (B)I trust,
Do not let me (C)be ashamed;
Do not let my (D)enemies rejoice over me.
Indeed, (E)none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;
[a]Those who (F)deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.

(G)Make me know Your ways, Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in (H)Your truth and teach me,
For You are the (I)God of my salvation;
For You I (J)wait all the day.
(K)Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness,
For they have been [b](L)from of old.
Do not remember the (M)sins of my youth or my wrongdoings;
(N)Remember me according to Your faithfulness,
For Your (O)goodness’ sake, Lord.

(P)The Lord is good and (Q)upright;
Therefore He (R)instructs sinners in the way.
He (S)leads the [c]humble in justice,
And He (T)teaches the [d]humble His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are (U)faithfulness and truth
To (V)those who comply with His covenant and His testimonies.

Nehemiah 9:26-31

26 (A)But they became rebellious and revolted against You,
And (B)threw Your Law behind their backs
And (C)killed Your prophets who had (D)admonished them
In order to bring them back to You,
And (E)they committed great blasphemies.
27 Therefore You (F)handed them over to their enemies who oppressed them,
But when they cried out to You (G)in the time of their distress,
You heard from heaven, and according to Your great compassion
You (H)gave them [a]people who saved them from the hand of their enemies.
28 But (I)as soon as they had rest, they did evil again before You;
Therefore You abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they ruled over them.
When they cried out again to You, You heard from heaven,
And (J)many times You rescued them according to Your compassion,
29 And (K)admonished them in order to turn them back to Your Law.
Yet (L)they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your commandments but sinned against Your ordinances,
(M)Which, if a person [b]follows them, then he will live by them.
And they [c](N)turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck, and would not listen.
30 (O)However, You remained patient with them for many years,
And (P)admonished them by (Q)Your Spirit through Your prophets,
Yet they would not listen.
Therefore You handed them over to the peoples of the lands.
31 Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You (R)did not make an end of them or abandon them,
For You are (S)a gracious and compassionate God.

Luke 21:20-24

20 “But when you see Jerusalem (A)surrounded by armies, then [a]recognize that her desolation is near. 21 Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are inside [b]the city must leave, and (B)those who are in the country must not enter [c]the city; 22 because these are (C)days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled. 23 Woe to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for (D)there will be great distress upon the [d]land, and wrath to this people; 24 and they will fall by (E)the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and (F)Jerusalem will be (G)trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until (H)the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
